Re: microphone boost on audigy 2 with newer drivers
Hi. Is it an audigy 2zs? If so, I have a driver cd here that runs fine on an xp service pack 3 system. And the microphone sounds good. If you like, we can try me sending you this driver cd in an .iso and see if it gets you anywhere you haven't been, even if it didn't help any. - Original Message - From: Rick Harmon [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC audio discussion list. Pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, July 28, 2008 7:42 PM Subject: microphone boost on audigy 2 with newer drivers Hi Everyone, Well I seem to have a rather bizarre problem here. Using newer drivers for the SB Audigy 2 will not allow me to check the microphone boost. When I check it and then verify it's checked, it's not. If I use my original drivers that came with the card the option works but the machine blue screens from time to time randomly. I wiped the machine this weekend and put XP home SP3 back on the machine with the same results. I verified the cause of the blue screen crashes to be the ctaud2k.sys file which is one of the sound card driver files by using the Microsoft debug tools and a third party front end for the GUI. Not sure if this is because of SP3 or Jaws as the problem doesn't seem to happen with other screen readers as far as I can tell so far. Any advice for fixing the problem is appreciated as I very much need the microphone boost feature to work here. BTW I've tried drivers from both the microft update and from creative directly. Re: microphone boost on audigy 2 with newer drivers
The creative site says the ZS drivers aren't compatible with the standard Audigy 2 so I doubt it would help. Re: microphone boost on audigy 2 with newer drivers
Hi. Awww, darn. You know, If you can still find a zs, you can get a really good replacement. At least mine works pretty sweet. I wonder if creative has tech support they can offer. Have you tried to let windows do an audio test thing on your hardware? it might be able to change something - Original Message - From: Rick Harmon [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Saturday, August 30, 2008 3:05 PM Subject: Re: microphone boost on audigy 2 with newer drivers The creative site says the ZS drivers aren't compatible with the standard Audigy 2 so I doubt it would help. Re: USB soundcard recommendations:
Hi. I used one for a while. I took it back. It had bad performance. You'll probably find one that works much better than the creative sound blaster live 24 bit one I tried. - Original Message - From: Donald Breda [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: the pc audio group pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, July 28, 2008 9:07 AM Subject: USB soundcard recommendations: I didn't getr any response to my last message so will give it one more try. I would like any recommendations for a USB soundcard with mic and line inputs. Is anyone using one successfully and if so what brand and model? thanks. Re: microphone boost on audigy 2 with newer drivers
Yeah I've been through the audio setup stuff already here. I probably will have to contact creative support and see what they suggest. The drivers did work at one time so somehow they've broken something somewhere. Music Downloads
Hi All, Can anyone recommend another good site besides RealPlayer and Phapsody where you can download and purchase individual tracks? I have lots of sites where I purchase complete CD's, but I have several tracks I'm wanting to locate and purchase. Thanks much.
