iMic

2009-02-03 Thread Peter Alan Smith
Hey, I hope this isn't regarded as a product advertisement, because it is
truly related to blind access to audio technology. I've been trying to find
the iMic for several weeks now. Griffin Technology cannot keep up with the
demand for this plug and play external sound device for recording on your
pc. They are continually sold out. Well I talked to some person there a
few days ago and they have just released another batch. I got an email from
the place where I reserved mine at about 3:00 am this morning. So I leapt
out of bed and ordered it. Psyched! Just wanted to alert folks on this
list that the iMic is available. Not an ad nor a product endorsement!

Cheers,

Peter

using Pandora

2009-02-03 Thread dean martineau
This question comes up periodically, but things do change, so I thought I
would ask again in case somebody knows a solution: does anybody have a way,
using any screen reader/browser combo, while using the Pandora service, to
thumbs up or thumbs down a song, skip a song, create a station, or
modify a station? If so, please be specific about the tools you use to
accomplish this.

yes it is not an option now since you're useing real player version 11.
I'm using Realplayer 11. There is no longer an option for media browser
only. Which option do I choose to get the same effect?

Now you've got me worried! I thought they were similar. It's still the
small device from what I read. I will find out.

But is it the IMic original or the IMic2? Griffin had the IMic2 available on
their site, but the original IMic seemed not to be available. The IMic2
seems to be a larger mixing board sort of thing. If you know the difference
between these products, please let me know. I bought my IMic off of EBay.
It's the little rouned device that plugs into the USB port.
Thanks a lot.

Hi list,
I have recently found a program that will perform similar functions as Sound
Taxi. Has anyone heard of a program called Tunebite? If so, what are your
thoughts regarding this program?

RE: iMic

I called up Griffin and they claim that the iMic 2 won't interfere with
sound output such as Jaws while recording from an external sound source.
You can call Griffin at:

+1 (615) 399-7000 -

So I am hopeful.

I have heard of it, have never used it, but it enables you to copy DRM files
in realtime so you can play them on a portable player.
