two cassettes to pc
Hi, i have an ion two cassette deck player specially designed to copy cassettes to a pc. i sent a couple of messages about this before, and a couple of you answered. now i have another question. it can only be answered by someone who has this particular machine. on the back panel, there is a gain control. it is marked min an max, which meanst minimum and maximum. when i adjust this control, there doesn't appear to be any difference in the volume which come to my pc. has anyone who has this machine had any trouble of this sort, or does their gain controll do something useful. brian. Hi Brian, Where did you get the machine, what did it cost? I need something like that for a project we are doing in one of the classes I teach in technology. - Original Message - From: brian parker brian.parke...@btopenworld.com To: pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Wednesday, February 10, 2010 5:44 AM Subject: two cassettes to pc Hi, i have an ion two cassette deck player specially designed to copy cassettes to a pc. i sent a couple of messages about this before, and a couple of you answered. now i have another question. it can only be answered by someone who has this particular machine. on the back panel, there is a gain control. it is marked min an max, which meanst minimum and maximum. when i adjust this control, there doesn't appear to be any difference in the volume which come to my pc. has anyone who has this machine had any trouble of this sort, or does their gain controll do something useful. brian. Hello Brian, I have that cassette deck, I can tell you what that knob is for. It doesn't work with the USB interface. That knob, controls the levels of the RCA analog output jacks. Some preamps and receivers, are more sensitive then others. This control knob, compensates for that. Hope this helps. My best regards. Sam Broadcaster is a fantastic program, but out of the box, although it's useable in basic terms, it's not very accessible. What I did was to spot up a comprehensive selection of hot spots with hot spot clicker...and the result is that I can use many features previously inaccessible. Things like the special effects slots, auxillary player, keystrokes to read elapsed time, remaining time, next queued track and so on...I know of people using it without anything and they are getting on OK, but only with basic functions. I'm hoping to launch a radio station 1 day using it via my website, but it all comes down to personell, as being a 1 man show is too much of a commitment...so if anyone thinks they would be interested in a possible radio venture, then get in touch: st...@crustysocks.com it would be great to hear from you, cheers Steve. - Original Message - From: Dane Trethowan grtd...@internode.on.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Sunday, February 07, 2010 8:01 PM Subject: Broadcasting Software was Station playlist Actually I have a more basic question and I'm obviously missing something from the web site, how much is Station Playlist itself? Right thanks for this, I'm not using JAWS but perhaps I can make some adaptions with Window-Eyes and access the software that way? I'll keep your original message as it contains some information that may help me with accessibility. Cheers and happy broadcasting! Re: two cassettes to pc
Hi I'm glad you've said that. I tried recording changing the know on my Ion and I checked the db settings and it seemed that it was adjusting the level. It was annoying as I couldn't get it set right. If what you say is right then I'm not going to bother about using the knob, and record with confidence. Re: two cassettes to pc
High Brian, All depending on the preamp and or receiver, you will hear it get louder or softer when you turn the knob. Some receivers and preamps won't let you hear the difference, so keep this in mind whenever you decide to hook it up to a home stereo system. My best regards.
