Usually when I need to record using the what you hear or stereo master functions, I would just select that option and then record with Sound Forge. However, since this isn't possible in Windows 7 that I've found, does Total Recorder or Replay AV let me record using this option built into either program? For instance, if I'm recording the output of my screen reader to a file, or the playing of a stream, does either program just simply record the audio that comes out of the sound card, or does it actually record internet streams only? I don't need this option very often, but when I do, I'd like to be versed in how to use it. I'd like to learn it before I have to rush a project and have to learn quickly. Thanks a lot. Re: Sending Attachments To The List
High Rob, I once tried to sign up for Send Space, but could not find the register link to do that on the Send Space Website. A friend of mind, invited me to join her in her Dropbox account, that's how I got it! Now to answer your question about how long you can leave files on any server, with Send Space, you can specify a time limit, so I understand. With Dropbox, you can leave the file or files up until you get ready to delete them. When you download and install the software, it will put a folder in My Documents on your computer that's entitled, My Dropbox. You can upload the files from there. But you don't really need to do anything, because the software will take care of that for you. All you have to do is, email the link to the file to someone if you wish to send it to anyone. Storage space, I don't know about Send Space. But with Dropbox, you can do this 2 ways. #1. you can invite a friend to join you on your account to increase your storage space. Or #2. you can rent more storage space for a price. Other wise, you will start out with about 1 GB of storage space. Hope this helps. My best regards. Re: Sending Attachments To The List
There is a limit of capacity in both cases. However, dropbox allows a minimum of 2 gb capacity. Whereas, sendspace only allows 300 mb which is pitiful in my opinion. With Dropbox the files can be shared in a couple of ways and they are, you can either set up and share a folder between people or you can send a link to a list such as this for people to click on and download the content that you wish to share with them. Hope this helps. Regards. Send Space and Drop Box
Hi. I hope tom the list owner doesn't mind this post since it isn't audio related unless the file sharing is audio related. I have a lot of experience with Send Space and think I can help. Firstly. Drop Box is quite popular but there are drawbacks. One I heard about on another list is if there are too many downloads of your file it tends to freeze and ceases working. I don't use Dropbox so I'm only going on what others who do say. As for Send Space? I use it all the time and I have a paid account. You can use Send Space for uploads and downloads freely but there are some drawbacks and some of them serious. With the free user option you can upload as many files as you please, it is unlimited but the max file size is 300mg. So you can upload as many files as you want in any 24 hour period without limit provided the file does not exceed 300mg. You can download freely also but you have a maximum download limit of 1gig in a 24 hour period. The new 1gig limit renews it's self at midnight U.S. East Coast time. If you use the free download option you will be faced with loads of adverts and if you click on any of these you risk getting infected. Many users of the free service have complained they get Trojans from these links. I have never had that experience when using the free service but enough have complained about it to suggest there must be something in it. However if you don't click on the links you should be fine. If you use the free service to upload files then once they have been uploaded, these files remain on the server for 7 days and then Send Space will delete them. There is one other account you can have witch is a compromise between free users and paid accounts and that is Send Space light. With this account you can upload and create folders in a similar way to a Max account holder but if you want to download then you download as a free user and you cannot use the Send Space wizard. Files that are stored using this account can be deleted by you but if you leave them and there is no downloads of a file with in 30 days then Send Space will delete it. OK, now for the paid accounts. There are two kinds Max and Pro. It really depends on whether you do a lot of downloading or uploading. As far as I am aware you can't have both accounts, it is either one or the other. I have a max account since I do a lot of downloading. With a max account I get an 8gig daily download limit which is really adequate. You can download up to that limit and get good download speeds compared to the free service, Depending on your connection speed. In my case I get up to 800 or 900kbs. If I use the Send Space wizard I get 1.5mg per second. You can also upload with the wizard and the upload with the wizard is much quicker than without it. You are still only allowed a max file size for upload of 300mg. With a max account you can leave your files on the Send Space server for as long as you want and can create folders and move files around. You can also set download limits either by number or by date and can if you wish password your files. Although Send Space claim the storage space is unlimited, it isn't. If you exceed 100gig then you will be notified you are breaching there fair use policy and if you don't delete files to bring your limit into line, they will. With the Pro account you pay for bandwidth. You can upload files as large as 1.5gig and have direct links for people to use and they don't have to work through adverts. This account in my opinion is only of benefit if you want to send very large files often and is probably most suited for commercial interests. With the Send Space light and the Max accounts you can gather max points for each download and once you gather 1 points you get a 1 month Max account free or you can gift it to someone else. Send Space is very accessible and there is no capchas to cause you trouble during registration nor downloading. I have a folder containing 100gig worth of music (2000albums. If you have never used Send Space and want to see how accessible it is then I'll give you the link to my folder and you can feel free to download as much as you wish. That link is: http://www.sendspace.com/folder/kb8qb1 . If you have any problems or questions then contact me off list only. My email address is w...@blueyonder.co.uk. Veronica FM transmitter
I am writing to inquire as to whether there is more than one incarnation of the Veronica FM transmitter. I am considering the purchase of a used one. From its description, it sounds as if it has analog frequency adjustment, and I prefer to buy one which is phase lock loop. Three other questions if I may. Is there a pot on the transmitter which allows one to match the output from the source to the transmitter? Second, will this unit work in conjunction with a whip antenna, or must it be connected to a roof top antenna? Lastly, are its input connectors RCA or 3.5 mm.? Thanks for feedback. We have a Veronica from way back a long time ago. 1. It has a wire antenna attached. 2. It isn't digital, but it does appear to be rock steady once tuned. There are a number of Veronica Fm transmitters although the company is now called Aareff so go to aareff.com and you will find all of them. Keep in mind that these aren't certified by the Fcc if you're in the Usa. On Jun 23, 2010, at 2:31 PM, Donald L. Roberts wrote: I am writing to inquire as to whether there is more than one incarnation of the Veronica FM transmitter. I don't want it for me, I want it for my wife. She just got a used car that has a cassette deck in it. But rather then listening to cassettes, she'd much rather listen to CD's. But the thing is, we don't have the money to upgrade the car stereo system. So the cheapest solution to that problem is, a disc man with anti skip and a cassette adapter. I'm open to all suggestions! Re: Sending Attachments To The List
Hi, John and listmembers. Thanks John for the info on Dropbox and Sendspace. This is very helpful. Sounds like another task to add to my to do list while i'm on vacation. The only question is whether I'll get it done the week before or after NFB national conference in Dallas. One more question. I assume I can sign up new Dropbox accounts after I have activated my account and am assured Dropbox meets my needs. Is this assumption correct? Take care and have a pleasant evening Rob Tabor - Original Message - From: DJ DOCTOR P djdoct...@att.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Wednesday, June 23, 2010 5:07 AM Subject: Re: Sending Attachments To The List High Rob, I once tried to sign up for Send Space, but could not find the register link to do that on the Send Space Website.
