Re: Extracting Audio From MP4 Files

2012-09-12 Thread Alexandra GrĂ¼nauer
The Free Studio softwre by DVD-Video-Soft. There's a great number of
converters which are mostly quite useful. When you install it, don't use the
software itself, but select the converters by going to programs and dvd
video soft.

Hope that helps.

Subject: Extracting Audio From MP4 Files

While Goldwave can manipulate so-called Media Foundation M4A files,
what can handle, and extract video from, .MP4 files? MP4 is the new de
facto standard for distributing standard-definition TV content on
Usenet. It's almost as small as the former .AVI (DirectShow) format
(also referred to as DivX or XVid), from which Goldwave can extract
audio.

And while we're at it, what about .MKV files, the HD version of MP4's?
Anything good at extracting audio from those?

TIA for any assistance.

Re: GWConnect Version 2.1 is Released

2012-09-12 Thread Steve Matzura
Good news. Now if GW Connect would only stop forcing my sound card to
the microphone setting, I'd like it a lot more. I have to keep the
sound card's recording properties window open every time I use GW
Connect because every time a call comes in, even after I've switched
it once, GWC will switch it back! Got to submit a tech note about that
to GWM.

Re: Extracting Audio From MP4 Files

2012-09-12 Thread Steve Matzura
It's not on the Extractor interface. It's the encoder configuration
you set up for this purpose. I don't think there are any that come
with it that are specifically for converting to mono, but it's easy
enough to define one of your own. Takes about a minute and a half.
