Hi, I suggest you update total recorder to the latest version, then you choose software recording and you just switch off jaws speech buy pressing insert plus space (before recording) and the same keystroak again to put speech back on, if you have jaws ten or older, you would need to use insert plus v, press the end key and then spacebar to turn speech off and then enter. Hi Dave, The only way around this is to get a trippletalk external synth. Another way is to get the virtual cable. Don't ask me anything about virtual cables , I haven't got one yet. I only know it's about $50. Are there any small USB sound cards that plug right in like a flash drive? Thanks, but this doesn't really solve the problem. It sort of reminds me of the old joke about the guy who goes to the doctor and says, doctor i have severe pain whenever I move my arm. And the doctor says, well then just don't move your arm. I frequently use the PC for other things, or set up the next thing to be recorded while the current recording is going. Good afternoon, I have not tried using VAC, but I have every assurance of its accessibility with JAWS and NVDA, but I can't say for sure as to whether or how well VAC works with We. Several instructors and students of the Cisco Academy for the Visually Impaired (CAVI), are using VAC with overwhelming success. The main thing to be aware of is the learning curve that lies before you, and it will take a lot of trial and error to configure all the inputs, throughputs, and outputs to get the program to connect various components correctly, be they hardware or software. Yes.A usb sound card for speech is a good idea. You can even get usb digital speakers that are fine with Jaws such as the Palo Alto Audio Design Musik Digital Multimedia Speakers for arounf $50. Or a usb sound bar for laptops. Be sure it acts as a sound card as well as drawing power from usb. This is the simplest solution I've found. I did have a problem with Jaws not responding or speaking quickly if it hadn't been talking for a while but somehow that is fixed. They are not good for music having no bass or treble but pretty good with speech. problem with premissions
Hi All, I am using windows 8 audacity and window eyes. When I try to save a sound file in audacity it says I don’t have premision to save in the audacity folder. How can I fix this? I've been trying to avoid external sound cards in order to keep the laptop portable, but there might not be any other solution. Open a url from the file menu. Sometimes you start a streem playing in another player and copy the address from the file properties in that player into TR then use capture. The capture feature opens a web page. You may need to copy the url in the search box again and fiddle around with the interface. It doesn't work on some web based players but worth trying. Hi, I suggest you update total recorder to the latest version, then you choose software recording and you just switch off jaws speech buy pressing insert plus space (before recording) and the same keystroak again to put speech back on, if you have jaws ten or older, you would need to use insert plus v, press the end key and then spacebar to turn speech off and then enter. Total Recorder and Stereo Mix?
HI guys I've been hearing today lots of talk on here about Total Recorder, thus here's my situation; if Iunderstand correctly might Total Recorder work? My situation is that in Windows7, I don't have Stereo Mix on my RealTech High Definition soundcard, thus there's no way to record both my voice and Jaws/other system sounds for my technology podcasts. Anyhow if Iunderstand correctly, with Total Recorder can this be done Record both my voice and the system sounds, or only the system sounds?
