Just as an aside I actually used winamp to do a live program for both WQNA FM
and WTND/LP FM I
streamed to them at 160 44.1 and it worked well 99 percent of the time.

Larry,

Do you want to do your syndicated program live, or record it and distribute it
to stations as an
audio file? I'm on an e-mail list for broadcast engineers and I can ask which
file format is
preferred if you want to record your program and send the file to them.

I think most stations have an FTP site that programs can be sent to, then the
station just programs
the file into their automation system.

Many blind people use StationPlaylist to broadcast over the Internet. Years ago
there was a Main
Menu program on ACBRadio explaining how to use Winamp for the same purpose.

Stations don't usually like live programming sent to them over the public
Internet. The other
methods, ISDN or satellite get expensive.

Hi. I have it in mind to market a syndicated show to Internet radio
 stations. Content will
consist of music and my voice.

The microphone is not an issue. Beyond that, my problem is that I don't
 know where to start when
it comes to what I need in order to use the computer to perform and record my
audio.
For instance, as a DJ, what's the best way to get music onto the computer
 while making it flow
as one would a traditional radio show? Hardware? Software? Additionally, I'm
not certain of the
best tools to use for getting my audio to the online stations who will play
it. Using either
windows or the Mac, what would you suggest for any aspect of my project. As a
blind person on a bit of a budget, I am seeking accessible
ideas that are as economical as possible.

I use WinTv7 and am quite pleased with it, although, I think that their
latest cd for installing said program needs to be a bit more accessible than
it is. So, you may need sighted help with it. Once you get pass that
hurtle, you'll do just fine from setting it up to work with your digital or
analogue setup or satelite or whatever, as far as scanning for channels.

Unable to Wrip CDs with New Version of Winamp

2013-10-10 Thread Samuel Wilkins
Hello everyone, I have just upgraded to the latest version of Winamp. Even
though I use Winamp Pro, it wouldn't let me download it, so I had to
download Winamp standard. After doing this, I checked and it said I had a
valid license of Winamp Pro, but it would not let me find the Winamp library
or enable it. Has anyone else had this problem?

Station Playlist, was, Looking for Info on meeting Accessible Internet Broadcasting Needs

2013-10-10 Thread Larry Naessens
Hi there. As was kindly suggested earlier in this thread, I have taken a look
at Station Playlist and it looks like an amazing automation package, at least
according to the testimonials posted on their website. I didn't see a lot of
software description by the developers themselves, but maybe I was looking in
the wrong place.

The information that I could find on Station Playlist lead to the following
concern. Since I will be recording a show and delivering it to subscribing
Internet stations in a yet to be determined format, how would station playlist
benefit me. I'm sure it would, as I've seen it mentioned here before. But thus
far I've been unable to discover how it can play a role in my project, as I
will be marketing a show rather than launching an Internet station..

Undoubtedly I'm missing something. So feel free to set me straight. Any
thoughts are welcomed and appreciated.

If you are doing a live show, then it would be good.
If you are purely recording, then you may as well use Sound Forge or Winamp.

RE: Station Playlist, was, Looking for Info on meeting Accessible Internet Broadcasting Needs

2013-10-10 Thread Humberto Rodriguez
Hello Larry:

SPL works on hourly playlists which you may create by hand or whose
automation you may achieve using another software they offer called Creator.
You can include spots, time whether, etc and you can use quick keys to
insert short messages, such as station or program identification, etc.

You could talk over whatever is playing by merely pressing a key. If you do
your program live to a few stations, you can encode the signal and stream it
to the servers simultaneously, while at the same time, you record what you
are transmitting.

If you merely want to record your program and edit the audio, adding to it
everything else you need, it is an overkill. In that case you could record
with any number of programs, like Total Recorder, Soundforge, Gold Wave,
Audacity, or digital recorders, later edit it with another large number of
programs, such as Total Recorder, Soundforge, Gold Wave or Audacity, and
finally, upload it to as many stations you want, using FTP or SFTP.
