In this eMail I'd like to refer to another way of recording Skype calls, if you have a Mac you can use Audio Hijack Pro, all you need do is run the App and select the Record From Skype template and tweak to your requirements. When the Hijack mode from Record To Skype is enabled a Skype call will be recorded whenever Audio Hijack Pro detects any audio activity from Skype. Further to this Audio Hijack Pro is fully compatible with Apple Automator Scripts and workflows therefore offering further enhancement and automation of the Skype recording process, you could for example have a Skype call recorded an automatically put into an iTunes playlist, have the call logged or archived etc, its all down to your imagination. Hi mike and all, MP3 skype recorder is a free neat program that will perfectly meet your needs! I have been using it for years now. Suffice that you allow it to record from skype and you will be good to go. You can find it with a simple google search. If you dont, let me know and will send it in a private E-mail!! Re: accessible skype call recording software
Hi all, You are right Dane. A few months ago Microsoft announced that it will retire the desktop API, which means practically that all programs that use API to communicate with skype will stop working as of the end of 2013. Some examples of those programs that use API are skypeTalking, mp3 skype recorder and call graph. However, Microsoft decided later on that it will continue supporting the desktop API until they find another alternative. For more detailed and precise information, visit this page: http://blogs.skype.com/2013/11/06/feature-evolution-and-support-for-the-skype-desktop-api/ So to samirize, Mp3 skype recorder is still functioning well with skype as of today until microsoft finds another alternative for call recording. Re: accessible skype call recording software
I have Total recorder and I used it for one complete year to record skype calls before I started using mp3 skype recorder. It records in a better quality but the only problem is that you need to start recording manually, so if you forget, the call will not be recorded. Another problem I encountered using it is the latency. If i record a call that is longer than 2 hours, it starts generating some really bad latency as you here both parties speak simultaneously. The good thing is that there are different options and each person can pick up what suits him/her. Happy skyping and happy recording, whatever your choice is!! :) Hamid AITOUZNAG We never value what we have until we lose it! For more detailed and precise information, visit this page: http://blogs.skype.com/2013/11/06/feature-evolution-and-support-for-the-skype-desktop-api/ So to samirize, Mp3 skype recorder is still functioning well with skype as of today until microsoft finds another alternative for call recording. total recorder would record just any sound that your computer generates. The only problem is that you need to start/stop recording manually. AirPlay Streaming From Your Windows PC
Okay, amazing what Google searches turn up. If you want to get into the AirPlay game and want to stream your audio from your computer then there's a completely different - and probably more sensible - way to do it than the various ways discussed here thus far, we've talked about using software such as Virtual Speaker and Airfoil to capture the audio and to stream it using AirPlay over your Wi-Fi network. There's an even easier way to do it and that's using an AirPlay Dongle. The dongle looks like a sound card to Windows so any audio you want to stream by AirPlay? Just redirect it to the Dongle and there it is for your AirPlay compatible device to receive and for you to listen to. These audio Dongles are just the tip of the iceberg, there are video AirPlay dongles available to allow streaming from your computer to an AirPlay compatible display/TV or even an Aple TV connected to a standard TV. SoundTaxi DRM Protection
Running Win7 64bit Home Premium I while ago I decided to dump my CD collection and copy them onto an external hard drive. All went well until I came to a set of 12 Classic Jazz discs I had purchased from Time Life Music. It appears they are DRM protected and nothing would shift them. I trawled through the internet and found a site that said that SoundTaxi would do the job. I have the pro version of this program installed so have spent the last couple of hours trying to work out how to do it with no success. SoundTaxi puts up a disclaimer stating it will not tolerate any illegal use. I am well within the law as I purchased the discs legally and am copying them to my own PC system for my own use only. (literally as the wife hates jazz with a passion. There’s some funny people about!! LOL) Obviously I’m not doing something right. Can anyone help me please. Roger

AirPlay is part of the Mac and it has more functionality under OSX Mavericks than it did under previous operating systems. You can for example set your sound output device to an AirPlay device in System Preferences. On 26 Feb 2014, at 3:23 am, Chris H christopher...@gmail.com wrote: Wow! A free AAC recording software solution?
Hey Listers, I am some what shamefully looking for a freeware recording decoder for AAC Internet audio streams. Hopefully this will be a temporary solution until I can afford to buy a full blown application. I presently use TR for my direct streaming of mp3 programming, but have no way of recording AAC streams. I am also still using XP, and will be for a while I'm afraid. Any help with this matter would really be appreciated, Larry

Does such a program exist? Thanks. Mike Rochester, NY.

Joe i'd recommend total recorder with gw connect, because the nice thing is you can set it up so that you and the person you are talking to are recorded in separate channels, so if you have to do any level matching later on or editing you can edit the channels separtely. - Original Message - From: Joe Bollard joebolla...@eircom.net To: pc- audio pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Tuesday, February 25, 2014 1:47 PM Subject: accessible skype call recording software friends i've read with interest all the various suggestions for an accessible skype call recording software, and have to admit i'm still confused, what i'm looking for is software that will record my gw connect calls, don't mind if i have to pay for it, but i want to be able to use it for radio interviews if possible, it has also been suggested to me that i use my sound forge with an external soundcard for gw connect, and a friend of mine has also suggested duck stream whatever that may be, i'm using windows seven with jaws 11, any help will be really appreciated, god bless, travel safely, joe bollard, the republic of ireland

Re: accessible skype call recording software
Hi! On the same subject but a slightly different tac. In one of my podcasts I used Audio Hijack Pro to record a Skype call, actually its Skype at my end, I have an Unlimited World Skype subscription which allows me to call any PSTN line - phone line - in the world and I also have some SSkype phone numbers in various countries - see signature at the bottom of my eMail - so it was child's play to conduct the interview for the Podcast. I've made this available so people can get an idea of how Skype can sound, I didn't need to do any level matching, skype does that already though you will notice that I'm using the microphone of the Plantronics Audio 478 headset, not a professional microphone by any manner of means but convenient for the time and good enough for the purpose. https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/10565527/Sangean%20ATS909x%20Demo%20-%203%20.mp3 If link doesn't work the first time then try again in a few minutes, file may still be uploading to Dropbox. Re: Sony voice recorder
Hi, I use some older Sony voice recorders, and almost all the time the erase button is on the upper right of the unit. You press on it once and it plays a part of the message if long, or perhaps the whole message if short. Press that button a second time and wham, its deleted. Those Sony DCB recorders are relatively inexpensive and great. They use to have buttons to change to 4 different folders, but since the screen menus, I just stick to one folder. The best thing about them is if you have the menus set correctly they will append a message, so if you're making a grocery list, you can do it all in one file as you think about additional items you want to add to an already saved list.
