accessible converting program

2014-12-19 Thread Jim Portillo
Hi there,

I'd like to know if anyone can recommend a simple but effective and
accessible program that can take a wav music file and convert it to mp3 or
the other way around as well.

I'm in need of something sooner than later.

Thanks.

Jim

Hi Stephanie Mitchell and list,
The usb port is that little thing you have right below the switch to
turn it on.

Hi again,

I was going to try and fix it again, but I manage to lose my cable for
this device, does anyone know what cable do I need to look for on eBay?
I bought a mini usb but it isn't the one.
Just need a name.

Thanks,

Alex.

Hi all,

As we are talking about this recorder, I have a dmdm-670 model.
Recently it won't connect to my computer, it will just say please wait
remote and nothing else happens, my computer doesn't even make the
device connection sound.
As i thought it was an issue with the software I tried reformatting
it, now I lost the voice.
Does anyone know how to fix this? First to get my voice guide backc
and second to connect it to my Windows 7 laptop?

Cheers.

Alex.

Well, you can always go to the file properties and see if it will read
them. If not, then I suggest you look at the dm7. Its a new model, and
for the first time ever, its now possible to set the date and time and
it speaks everything, even file properties. I also were able to set
the recording timer, alarm and using the skedular or calendar easily.
Its truly the most accessible ever.

Hi. Well, where do I begin. I think I'm very spoiled because I have a
20gig Creative Zen touch mp3 player. This player is magnificent
when it
comes to sound quality but I'm not able to use it because I can't
find the
Win7 drivers for the player so I can load it with music. I think it is
designed for XP users only. Giving I can't use it I was hoping the DM5
would have good sound reproduction and although it is reasonable at
a push,
it doesn't compare to the Zen Touch. My disappointment was
compounded when
I compared it with my mobile phone player which is superior to the
DM5 in
sound quality. The DM5 spoken menus are inadequate. It tells you the
track
name but you get very little info of how many tracks you have on the
player.
For example if I decide to play music by selecting artist then it
doesn't
give me the number of tracks in any particular artists folder and
also when
I arrow up and down the list, the reaction time is very slow and
that is
with speeding up the voice guidance. I'm inclined to just use my
mobile
for
music listening unless I can get a better player that will give me very
high
quality sound reproduction. Oh, nearly forgot, I have to increase the
volume to nearly full to get a good level of volume, it seems the DM5
output
signal is a low one. It would seem to me that the player is truly
meant as
a portable recorder and the music player function is an
afterthought. This
player has never really been used, I'm just getting to grips with
it. I
bought it a couple of years ago and it has lay in an equipment box ever
since and not been touched but maybe I'll consider selling it. Walter.

Walter, what is your problems with the music player? I think it have
less daisy functions then for music. What makes the music player less
appealing to you?

Hi thanks for that. Actually, I don't think the mp3 player
in the DM5 is up
to much. I have a Nokia 2210 navigator and the player in
that phone is by
far superior. Therefore, I might not use the DM5 as a music
player but as
it has DAISY capability then that is what I may well use it
for. Walter.

Hello:

I use Audiozilla. You get a trial that allows you to convert 6 files. Cost
is then $29.95.

You highlight a file and use the Application key to select Audiozilla and
then a menu comes up asking you to select the format you wish to convert to.
Then it does it. Very little interaction and confusion.

I like it.

do any of you still use media player classic to play dvd's?

2014-12-19 Thread randy tijerina

hello folks, Randy here.
I'm curious as to know, do any of you still use media player classic
to play dvd's?
for some reason, when I try to do for example alt plus n to go to
this or that...some of it says unavailable..It was a good
player..what gives here?

Re: do any of you still use media player classic to play dvd's?

2014-12-19 Thread Laurence Taylor
Yes, often. Gives no trouble at all. When you say unavailable, do you
mean MPC produces that message or that what you select isn't available?
Often some options will be greyed out if the function isn't available.

I'm using version 1.7.7.

getting the enque and play option to show in windows 8.1

2014-12-19 Thread Mike Bernard
Hello fellow pc-audio listers:

Barry, if you're still part of the list, those options you gave me to get a
newly inserted track to insert directly below the currently playing one,
worked like a charm when I had windows xp. But now, I've got windows 8.1,
and things are a bit different. I don't know if you've switched to this
operating system yet or not, but in case you have, do you know how to get
the en q n play in winamp option to show up in the context menu in windows
8.1 like it did in windows xp? I've got the checkboxes you discussed under
the shell options checked as they are supposed to be in order to make this
work, but being that Microsoft has included the ribbon everywhere, it kind
of complicates things. Thanks and I hope all of you have a safe and happy
Christmas and happy new year.
