RE: Listening to NCAA basketball games over the internet

2010-03-19 Thread Andy Squires
I was able to listen to the video feeds at www.cbssports.com without any
problem. Would like to find radio feeds, though.

Hi Kevin, Here is one site I found on the Flying blind news letter this
week.
Fred's Head directs us to MYP2P, a web site where you can watch most live
sports events free.

 Hi.

I have XM Satellite Radio, which is broadcasting all of the Men's NCAA
basketball games. They mention on their broadcasts that if you go to

 http://ncaa.com

you can listen to the radio feeds of these games. I went to this site,
 and
didn't see anything. I did have a bit better luck by going to

 http://ncaa.com/mmod

There's a link to start the video feed of a game playing. I was able to
start it, but I had no way to switch between games, and I couldn't get to
the radio feeds. The reason I want to access the radio feeds is to hear
games that happened earlier today, especially the upsets.

Anybody know how to work this site, or is there another site I can go to
 to
hear the archives? I looked for a contact link, but I couldn't find one.

 Thanks in advance.

GO CATS! 1 win and 5 to go.

RE: Winamp Volume problem

2007-05-09 Thread Andy Squires
I have this problem, too, on one of my machines. Same thing, even if I
crank the volume in Winamp to the max with the up arrows, it's still too low
relative to Jaws. My EQ is turned off. All the volume settings in volume
control are set to 100%.

If I load the same file in Sound Forge it's plenty loud relative to Jaws.

I'd be interested, too, if anyone has a solution.

Andy

Maybe I wasn't exactly clear on my problem. I don't have a problem
controlling JAWS volume and WINAMP together. I can lower the Winamp volume
and JAWS won't change. The problem is that WINAMP volume is too soft, and
JAWS outdoes it. When I lower the JAWS volume in the volume control with the
WAV settings, the Winamp volume also permanently goes down. I need to get
JAWS softer without lowering WINAMP, not the other way around.

Hi,
If you select the Direct Sound output as the winamp output plugin you can
control the volume controls for speech and Winamp independently. Also, make
sure that the EQ isn't turned on and with the pre-amp lowered substantially.
To do this, press alt plus g, control tab to the EQ window and press the
letter n to disable the EQ.

I've done that. It's as loud as it will get.

Try pressing Up Arrow in Winamp while a file is playing to see if
 volume increases. It should increase.

 Subject: Winamp Volume problem

I have a strange issue with the volume in WINAMP that I never used to
have.
In order to get WINAMP volume at a decent level, I need to turn my
main speakers up quite loud. This makes JAWS volume way over the top.
I decided to go into volume control and adjust my WAV volume so JAWS
would speak quieter, and WINAMP would be loud enough. Apparently
WINAMP isn't controlled by the Master volume, and when I lower JAWS,
it also lowered WINAMP to where I could barely hear it. How can I
get the WINAMP volume to be acceptable, and yet still have JAWS
lowered enough that it's not yelling at me? I'm using JAWS 8 and
WINAMP 5.32. I'm planning to upgrade to 5.34. I have a Santa Cruise
Turtle Beach sound card, but there doesn't seem to be any place to
adjust for volume there. Thanks.

 Vicki
