Honestly, no. Will this also keep music at a constant volume level for my
listeners?
 Thanks.

Hello, I was wondering if anyone uses station playlist? If so, how can I
achieve the best sound when streaming? I tried the Thomas limiter plugin to
no avail, when not using any compression, listeners report volume
fluctuation. Any help would very much be appreciated.

Hello, the Mac Mini is indeed as you described. In addition to the 4 USB 3.0
ports, you also have a firewire port, HDMI, Thunderbolt port, one input
line-in, one speaker jack and a memory card reader. Hope this helps.

Subject: Mac Mini Update

Hi!

I’ve had my new Mac Mini for about a month now and thought I’d share some
observations with you.

The Mac Mini is fast turning into my main computer of choice because of its
speed and power, here’s an example which I think illustrates the point
rather well.

I’m testing a Mp3 player, I deleted all my Mp3 collection a few weeks back
so I needed to create or download some more, given I have a good FLAC
collection it made sense I guess to convert some of those, I started with
the Beatles Singles collection 4 CD set from 1962-1970 which contains more
than 40 tracks.

Conversion was over in around 30 seconds and I was using the highest
settings with the LAME MP3 encoder to get the best I could out of it, on my
Windows desktop and other machines such a conversion task would have taken
around 20 minutes or even longer.

I spoke to someone about this and he reckoned it would have only taken 5
seconds or so with his Mac Pro machine and so it ought to given that his
machine contains 8 quad core i7 processors smile, mine only contains one
but I think the major contributing factor here is the Fusion Drive that my
Mac Mini uses, put simply a fusion drive is a 1TB standard hard drive with a
128GB SSD drive incorporated into the design, when idle the operating system
decides what resides on the SSD and what doesn’t based on the most accessed
files, most run applications and so on.

Now I’m not writing this post as an advertisement for Mac Mini machines as I’m
sure similar can be accomplished with Windows PC’s, I’m writing this because
I’m amazed at just how far we’ve come, encoding and creating of MP3 files
used to take hours if not many minutes not all that long ago.

The firewire port is basically for transferring files if you have a supported
device, as well as if you have a monitor that uses that kind of plug.
Thunderbolt is Apple's way of either plugging in a monitor, which you would
need a special adapter if you have a VGA monitor and it can also be used to
transfer data if you have the proper drive for this.

Yep thanks for that, I forgot to mention the SD Card reader and the Firewire
though I really do wonder why Apple bother with that as Thunderbolt is much
faster, I guess its a compatibility thing.

Again spot on smile, I bought a Thunderbolt dock, actually I bought it for my
2011 Mac which had Thunderbolt but didn’t have USB 3.0 and I wanted the extra
speed.

Anyway the dock gives extra flexibility to a machine at the plug in of a
Thunderbolt cable giving extra USB 3.0 ports, another couple of display ports,
more audio ports, more Ethernet ports etc.

Actually, I've used the same windows keyboard on both mac and windows side
since I have both OS installed on both mac mini and macbook pro. I will someday
purchase a full-size keyboard from Apple but like the windows keyboard for the

Ah yess, Apple have a Full-Size USB keyboard with very large keys, I like it
for several reasons, it has a nice touch when typing, is of solid metal
construction and lies flat with a slight tilt from back to front, its virtually
silent when typing.

Apple have a smaller Bluetooth version of the keyboard available minus the
numbered, I use both keyboards depending on what I’m doing, if you’re sitting
on your couch then you certainly don’t want a full size keyboard on your lap in
my opinion smile.

As a final note to anyone who is planning on a Mac, I would stick to an Apple
keyboard or compatible as there are differences between Windows and Apple
keyboards thus using a Windows keyboard with a Mac only makes things more
difficult than they need to be.

Hi!

I’ve had my new Mac Mini for about a month now and thought I’d share some
observations with you.

The Mac Mini is fast turning into my main computer of choice because of its
speed and power, here’s an example which I think illustrates the point
rather well.

I’m testing a Mp3 player, I deleted all my Mp3 collection a few weeks back
so I needed to create or download some more, given I have a good FLAC

the Beatles Singles collection 4 CD set from 1962-1970 which contains more

128GB SSD drive incorporated into the design, when idle the operating system
decides what resides on the SSD and what doesn’t based on the most accessed
files, most run applications and so on.

Now I’m not writing this post as an advertisement for Mac Mini machines as I’m
sure similar can be accomplished with Windows PC’s, I’m writing this because
I’m amazed at just how far we’ve come, encoding and creating of MP3 files
used to take hours if not many minutes not all that long ago.

I believe the Soft Pack is priced at about $40. However, it is possible to
convert files to MP3 through a more convoluted process. Without the Soft
Pack, all note files will be recorded in that .GP format. With the free
HumanWare Companion software, it is easy to convert .GP files to .WAV files.
From there, you can use GoldWave or another application to convert to MP3.
As I said, convoluted. Me, I'm happy to convert from .GP to .WAV, so the
HumanWare Companion is a boon. You need the latest version of that software.

Webvisum is basically an add-on for firefox, and you can google for this. It
allows you to solve capchas instantly within firefox, instead of logging

2011-04-21 Thread armando maldonado
Hello, most newer ipods have a talking software called VoiceOver built into
them. I believe the Ipod touch is one of them as well as the nanno or
shuffle. Correct me if I'm wrong, but on the touch, if you go with a 16 gig
or higher, you'll get the VoiceOver feature. I do not know much on the
shuffles nor nannos sie but they may hold true as well. Hope this gives you
a place to start from.

What are some good IPod brands that will be compatible with the talking

I'm sorry if this sounds stupid or a out of it question.

studio recorder question

2010-12-03 Thread armando maldonado
Hello,
I hope someone can help me with the following. Using the latest version of
Studio Recorder, how is one able to put in track info, such as comments and
what not? I'm trying to do this in order to be successful in writing
comments for file info so that when I plan to submit to a site for podcasts,
I have all this encoded in the file. Thanks and hpohpe to hear from someone.

A gold wave question

2010-08-24 Thread armando maldonado
Hello,
I'm using gold wave 5.25 that is installed on a machine using windows 7

hear the track. If I set it to microphone, I can only hear myself. What am I
doing wrong and how can I remed this issue? Thanks.

Hi,

You mix the two sounds together.

take your original track.
start playing it, and while it's playing, record your other track, making
sure to have stereo mix turned off.

then, copy the 2nd track to your clipboard.
in goldwave, in another open file, play until you've reached the point where
you want to paste.
i do believe you can just pause the recording, press control m for mixing,
and tell it to paste in the content of the clipboard. You can preview it to
make sure the two tracks are synchronized the way you want.

it would be nice to be able to do realtime multi track recording, gw can't
perform that task. I think sonar can, and there was a program, ntrack I do
believe, that could do it.

The jump command in winamp is quite powerful. I mean you can't kill

If you've ever tabbed around the jump dialog box you'll notice the

or search button. Just start typing and tab over to the list to see your
 results.
Here is a brief description of the following buttons once your cursor is
 on
 the track you wanted.
Jump button: Jump immediately to a track

things easy if you want to queue up a bunch of files without a lot of

Accessible DJ sopftware?

2010-04-25 Thread Armando Maldonado
Hello, I was wondering if any of you is able to guide me in the following
direction. I was wondering if there was some sort of accessible dj sorftware
that I can use with Jaws 11 and windows 7 ultimate? I'm currently using
winamp, but the issue I'm having is that when I try cuing upa file, there's
no option that allows me to cue up songs within winamp. When I was using xp
home with windows media player 10, I had that option available to me. Any
suggestions or ideas are very much appreciated. Thanks.

Armando,

Wireless mics lose the natural warm bass tones, thus over
accentuating highs. The result is sharp, shrill, sometimes piercing
highs.

They're rarely used in professional recording, but live bands like the
convenience of them during shows. As to which mics are the best, all the
major brands offer good mics. It depends on your budget. Be wary of
advice

that one brand is better than another. Consider this however, Sennheiser
offers a ten year warranty on their mics, which none of the other
companies
do. For feedback, stick with carteoid, not omni directional mics. Keep
in
mind, any mic will feedback if to close to speaker, or if speaker volume
is
too loud. Shure makes the SM57, which is sturdy, and sounds good for
voice

and instruments. You can buy one for less than 100 dollars. Finally, be
aware that Condenser mics pick up high sounds better than dynamic mics,
but
they are fragile and may die if dropped. Dynamic mics are more durable,
and

somewhat drop friendly, but their clarity is less than condenser mics. It
all dpends on what your purpose is. Most studios carry a large variety of
mics. Hope this helps. I record professional CD's for bands, and run
large
P.A.s for shows. I've used a little of everything. Let me know if I can
be

of any further help.John Russo

microphone question

2010-03-25 Thread Armando Maldonado
Hello Members,
I have a question in regards to microphones. Using my Newmark mixer, which
microphones are the best, in regards to them not picking up feedback from the
speakers? Also, are wireless mics recommended or should I stay away from them?
I would like to be able to purchase a multipurpose mic that I can use for both,
dj functions and recording. Thanks.

Hello Armando,
High quality condenser mikes are excellent.
You can use them for just about anything.
If you're here in the USA, go to:
http://www.americanmusical.com
They have some very good condenser mikes there.
My best regards.
 John.

Hello,
If your sound card has a line in jack, you should plug your mixer in to
that.
But you will need a cable that has the RCA plugs on one end, and a 1-8th
inch many plug on the other end.

You can pick those up at RadioShack at about $6.
Hope this helps.
My best regards.
 John.

hello Members,
I'm about to take online classes and am wanting suggestions for either
headsets or microphones with noise cancellation. If i decide to wear
headset, I would like to know which headset is less bulky and has a good
mic, and as for the mic, I would like to have a multipurpose mic so I can
also use goldwave to record voice wiht little to no background noise.
Thanks for any suggestions and I will take all this into advisement when
purchasing either of thos two mention above.

control p to open preferences
o for output
tab twicehighlight direct output
alt c to configure
use your jaws cursor or we cursor to click the fading tab
click the on end of song and change the customize figure 6453
click ok
click ok again
enter. this should get you the crossfade you need. If not tweek that number

Hello!
Well, to crossfade, there is a very good plug in for this called sqr
crossfade plug in, it's free and I'm using it quite alot when I'm out
DJ-ing.
and I'm also using it when I'm broadcasting on the net radio.
you can set how you want the actual crossfade to behave with different
