Hi all, new here. I have quite a mixed bag of Irish
folk songs I recorded off the satellite(music choice)
over Saint Patrick's Day a few years ago, but it's all
on cassette, I have no way of transfering them to mp3
yet, equipment is in separate rooms, and I only have a
faulty mono cable, but I can send copies free matter

  The songs are for an

Here's a program that burns ogg to CDA. It is fairly accessible. When
ready to burn you have to turn on (all graphics) and click the graphic
button labeled '385'. Otherwise it works pretty well.

dBpowerAMP CD Writer (dCW) makes audio CD creation a breeze, never before
has it been just so easy to create Audio CDs:

 List of 3 items
. Write audio CDs from practically any audio file,
. Create Standard 74 or 80 minute CDs,
. Make Mp3, WMA or Ogg vorbis CDs.
 list end

 dCW is Shareware.

 dBpowerAMP Music Converter
(dMC) - must have audio tool -
 Free Download
 NEW Release 10.1 [8th January 2004] NEW

Often called a Swiss army knife of Audio, dMC is able to:

 List of 8 items
. Rip digitally sound from Audio CDs and store in a multitude of formats,
 dMC is the
 Fastest CD Ripper
 and now AccurateRip Compatible
. Convert from one format to another, just about every audio type is
supported: mp3, mp4, Windows Media Audio (wma), Ogg Vorbis, AAC, Monkeys
 Audio, FLAC
 and many others [
  Codec downloads],
  whilst preserving ID Tags,
 . Volume Normalize audio files,
. Windows Explorer Integration - right click Convert To popup useful
information on audio files (such as bitrate, length).
. ID tag editing [Power Pack Option],
. Record from LPs or anything [optional Auxiliary Input install],
. Fully compatible with Windows 95/98/ME NT4/2000, Windows XP and Linux (
 using Wine).
. 100% Free, No nags, popups, hidden spyware or bundleware.
 list end

Yes, this is for the alignment of the jacks on the card face.

You still will have to go into properties of volume control and be sure
that
line in is checked under recording.

Ron! You say that you have a line out that is a digital out. This
doesn't make sense to me. Either it's a Line Out or a Digital Out. You
have to have a true audio Line Level Output on your receiver, they all
have
at least one pair, one for each stereo channel.

 To

If text files are converted to MP3s by a program like Text Aloud or

 If

   Subject: RE: another rockbox question

Hi.
If text files are converted to MP3s by a program like Text Aloud or
Kurzweil/Openbook, then the Archos will play them as standard MP3
 files.
   If
you're asking whether you can transfer standard ASCII text files to
 the
archos and have Rockbox convert them to MP3, you can't,
unfortunately.

   put
in to MP3's.

 Hi:
Lets say that I get the software on the player, do I have to do
 anything
else? You said it will speak the menus, will it speak the folders
 and
 the
names of songs? What else can it do?

Well it also depends what you're burning to cd, for instance if you're
doing
a music cd only, it's good you set your burner to sixteen x, because if
you
try to max out your burner at the fastest speed, you'll get a bad cd.
Take an extra moment when you find yourself at piece, to think about your
 values, and your own affluency.
