Bookmarks in Winamp question

2010-03-04 Thread Vicki
I asked this question to the Winamp list the other day and there didn't seem
to be a solution, so I thought I'd try here.
I'm using the latest version of Winamp with Vista. I'm having two problems.

1. When I add a bookmark using the shortcut key Alt I, it says the bookmark
is
added, but no bookmark is ever added.

2. I have placed my winamp.bm file into my winamp folder and no bookmarks
show
up. On my netbook with XP the BM file was added fine.

ZenStone Question

2010-02-17 Thread Vicki
I've been having an unusual problem with my Zenstone the last couple of
months, and I'm hoping someone has a solution for me.

Sometimes when I delete files from the ZenStone, they show up as deleted,
however, when I unplug it from the computer and listen, they are still
there. They show up nowhere, so it's impossible to get them off without
reformatting the Zenstone. That means reinstalling everything I want on
there again just to remove things that are taking up space and not showing
up.

Does anyone know what causes this and what I can do to either prevent it
from happening or get rid of those invisible files without reformatting the
entire Zenstone?

Thanks.

If you are using a windows computer are you using the safely remove hardware
option before disconnecting the Zenstone? If you are using a mac are you
ejecting the Zenstone before disconnecting it? In either case that's one
reason that could be happening.

Thank you so much for this. I was asking for a friend, and for some reason,
even though he was approved, he can't
find the e-mail address to post messages. Since I haven't been a member for
years, I couldn't tell him. I searched on Google, but had no luck finding a

Hi Vicky,

You have to rip them onto your computers hard drive first. You can do this
with a number of different applications including windows media player,
CDEX, and winamp too. I can't tell you how to do this in winamp because I
don't use it to rip CD tracks; however, there are folks on the list who can
help you with this further.

If you select the Direct Sound output as the winamp output plugin you can
control the volume controls for speech and Winamp independently. Also, make
sure that the EQ isn't turned on and with the pre-amp lowered substantially.
To do this, press alt plus g, control tab to the EQ window and press the

Re: Winamp Volume problem

2007-05-09 Thread Vicki
Maybe I wasn't exactly clear on my problem. I don't have a problem
controlling JAWS volume and WINAMP together. I can lower the Winamp volume
and JAWS won't change. The problem is that WINAMP volume is too soft, and
JAWS outdoes it. When I lower the JAWS volume in the volume control with the
WAV settings, the Winamp volume also permanently goes down. I need to get
JAWS softer without lowering WINAMP, not the other way around.

have.
In order to get WINAMP volume at a decent level, I need to turn my main
speakers up quite loud. This makes JAWS volume way over the top. I
 decided
to go into volume control and adjust my WAV volume so JAWS would speak
quieter, and WINAMP would be loud enough. Apparently WINAMP isn't
 controlled
by the Master volume, and when I lower JAWS, it also lowered WINAMP to
 where
I could barely hear it. How can I get the WINAMP volume to be acceptable,
and yet still have JAWS lowered enough that it's not yelling at me? I'm
using JAWS 8 and WINAMP 5.32. I'm planning to upgrade to 5.34. I have a
Santa Cruise Turtle Beach sound card, but there doesn't seem to be any
 place
to adjust for volume there. Thanks.

 Vicki

Re: Macromedia Flash Players And Screen Readeing Software

2007-05-06 Thread Vicki
This is a pretty nasty problem with both Macro and Adobe Flash players. I
use JAWS 8, and still can't get it to work. You might try calling Freedom
Scientific if you use Jaws. If you use another screen reader, try calling
their tech support. I know that part of the problem is that the player
controls are imbedded in the web page, so screen readers can't access the
controls. Someone recommended changing some active.exe files, but that
required writing a lot of computer scripts and lines into text files, and I
didn't feel I was knowledgeable enough to do that, and there was no
guarantee it would work anyway.

Subject: Macromedia Flash Players And Screen Readeing Software

Hello every one out their.
I would like to know if any one has been able to get Macromedia Flash
players of any kind to interface with there screen reading software?
I am asking because I have an on line account, and it requires you to have
Macromedia Flash player 8 or higher to axis it.
The last few times I tried a flash playerof any kind, I couldn't get it to
work with Jaws.
Is there a way around this that you know of?
Thanks.

An important patch has just been released to fix a security issue in
Winamp 5.34. One place where you can download the patch from is at
http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/Winamp_5_Security_Patch/1066336873/4.
The patch is 56kb in size. Here is some information about the patch:

Winamp 5.34a Security Patch includes a patched version of in_mp4.dll
(v1.22) that
fixes the MP4 file parsing buffer overflow vulnerability. The
vulnerability is caused
due to an error within the handling of MP4 files and can be exploited
to cause memory
corruption via a specially crafted MP4 file. Successful exploitation
allows execution
of arbitrary code.

Highlight the feed in your subscriptions list. Then either do control D or
go to the tools menu and select remove feed. That's it.

Hello Listers,
I need to know how do I delete or unsubscribe from feeds in the Juice
podcast reciever?
I subscribed to some feeds not knowing that they would have the things that
they have in them, being a Minister, this isn't good.
Thanks!

Listers,
I am using the Juice reciever with out the scripts. However, is there much
of a difference using the scripts?
I'm not having to bad of a problem, but if the scripts would make the use of
the program considerably easier to use, and if some one will tell me where I
may get the scripts, I'll go that way.

thanks to all,
Carliss

Easy CD-DA Extractor

2007-04-06 Thread Vicki
Does anyone have any idea why Easy CD-DA Extractor wouldn't be converting
some of my m4A or MP4 files? I'm using version 9.1.3 pro, and I get an error
message that there was a problem decoding. It doesn't do this with all my
files, but these particular files are podcasts related to I-Tunes. Is there
a setting I should change in either the program or the files? Thanks.

I have a friend who just purchased the Helix.
If you like, e-mail me off list, and I will give you his contact
information. He loves it, and I'm sure he would be very glad to talk with
you and even go through how the features work via phone. He just got it this
last week with a terrific rebate through buy.com which is good until March
31. E-mail me at:

I have had my XMPCR for about 4 years and really enjoy it. Now since
prices are more reasonable I'm thinking about getting a portable XM
radio. Since they have discontinued the Delphi MyFi It seems I have
2 choices. It is either the portable XM radios with MP3 players or
the Delphi receivers with the portable kits that you wair or carry.
Has any one gotten a portable xm radio lately? Which XM would be the
most blindfriendly?

Macro Media Chats

2007-03-15 Thread Vicki
I posted the below message to the JFW list and received no response, so I
was hoping someone on this list may have an answer.

I am wondering if anyone has used the chat feature on some web pages that
use macro media flash player. The chats are either private or group chats.
How does macro media flash player work with JAWS in a chatting situation? If
anyone has tried this, and still has access to a web page or other place
where Macro Media flash player is used for chatting, would you e-mail
off-list? Thanks.

Yes.

But I recommend using version 9.1.3, which is fully accessible, rather than
the current version. You can get 9.1.3 here:
