Okay, just connected to the London VPN server at Witopia and was able to play the Radio 2UE stream without a problem, to be honest I doubt that the Fairfax Radio streams such as 2UE and 3AW would be geobolocked as the presenters are always looking for callers from all parts of the globe. Creating a playlist for a stream link - Re: question for Dane
Hi, I have some links for streams that I would like to stream with my Plextalk Pocket, PTP1. As far as I'm aware, to play internet links, you have to have them in m3u or other play list formats. Is there a way to create that play list manually like with editor and just name it playlist.m3u and how would I do that? Re: Creating a playlist for a stream link - Re: question for Dane
Hi Alexandra, An M3U file is just a text file which you can create in Notepad or other text editor. All the file needs to contain is the URL to a stream. For example, to create an M3U file for 2UE Sydney: 1. Launch Notepad. 2. Type or paste the following line mms://streaming.mytalk.com.au/2ue 3. Save the file as 2UE Sydney.m3u An M3U file can contain other descriptive information about the link, but it is not essential. Re: Creating a playlist for a stream link - Re: question for Dane
That's ok. I'm not sure if the Plextalk recognises the mms type at the start of the URL in my example or only http, but the steps are correct. So far as I know, there is essentially no difference in the contents of the file between .m3u, .pls and .asx. The difference in Windows, is which program the file will launch by default. .pls will usually launch Winamp, .asx will launch Windows Media Player and .m3u will launch which ever one you have as your default media player. For 2UE just find the Windows Media link, copy this to the clipboard and paste it into Winamp, I'm not using Winamp here as I'm using VLC but it should all be the same, can't exactly remember the command you use in Winamp, I think its ctrl-l to open a URl?
