hi ok well i haven't had one of these decks for a long time prob best to look on ebay for one but wen i did have one they were good and its all aboute getting a good quality one with an expensive cartridge, so that you don't get any rumbleing sounds, which you sometimes get on some decks. from stewart ross - Original Message - From: Sunshine sunsh...@abe.midco.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, August 31, 2009 1:41 PM Subject: Re: Seeking USB/analog turntable recommendations how much is this turntable? - Original Message - From: stewart ross stewartr...@sky.com To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, August 31, 2009 7:34 AM Subject: Re: Seeking USB/analog turntable recommendations hi personally i would not go for a USB turntable, get a good quality one with a good quality cartridge on it, go for a teckniques SL1200 cartridge stanton 500 if you need to de pop or de click any vinal, you can use programmes like cool eddit, or sound fordge, or audio cleaning lab. from stewart ross - Original Message - From: Norma A. Well I honestly don't use software. I like for whoever wants to hear a record from me to hear it the way it is. I find that if you use the fancy software you remove allot of the not just unwanted noise, but also some good sound too. john schwery wrote: Randy, so do you use the software that comes with the unit or something else? Randy, then, I don't understand how you use it? How do you record with the turn table? Re: Seeking USB/analog turntable recommendations
well what O do is when i record from my turntable to the computer, I use cdex. I was told I can do that. the only problem i have with cdex is that the volume can be a bit on the quiet side. john schwery wrote: Randy, then, I don't understand how you use it? Re: Seeking USB/analog turntable recommendations
Hi guys, Many thanks for the great response to my inquiry. I think I am going to get a turntable with USB and analog outputs, because I like the idea of buying only 1 unit to use with my PC and rack stereo system. If I for some reason don't like what I'm getting from the turntable via USB, I guess I can then get a pre-amp and use the analog output jacks. Has anyone had any experience with the Memorex turntables which are USB/analog? Actually, now that I think about it, I may need to go with a quality traditional turntable because of the need for a separate 78 cartridge. (Thanks to the person who reminded me of that fact.) Wow, this is a little more complicated than I originally thought. You guys are great, I am learning a lot!
