Gary,
I am using Sarah's tutorial with no problem whatsoever. Perhaps you should
try downloading the files onto your computer. Right click the link, arrow
down to save target as and save it on your hard drive. Maybe that might
work better for you.

I'm running Version 3.1 with scripts.

I'm curious as to what the latest version of Skype with functioning scripts
might be; or is the latest version good enough for
JAWS 8 not to need them?

Thanks in advance.

Re: Skype Question

2007-03-29 Thread Richard Claypool
The audio recordings with skype is quite good so long as you have a good
solid connection.

What version of skype are you using?

For recording, you have a few options. Total recorder is one. If you have
outlook (not outlook express), you can get skylook, which will let you
record skype calls in outlook.

Hi! I am hoping to launch an on-line radio program soon, and I was
wondering if any of you happen to use Skype for recording phone
interviews. I have an older version of Skype, but I really haven't played
with it very much. I've heard that the audio quality of recordings with
Skype isn't great, but I thought things might have changed with newer
 versions. Thanks!

Hi,

There is a square label in the back of the unit. This can
be peeled carefully off, thus revealing three screw holes. The one
closest to the edge of the machine is the one you want. With a small
screw driver, turn this clockwise all the way. Stick the label back
on and you're set. Not sure to what level this boosts the signal. I
still cannot pick up the signal over a hundred feet or so, but its
clearly better.

The only must-have is XP. Don't know if it matters whether it's Home

Skype, from http://www.skype.com (where else?) is very useable with
JAWS even without scripts, although there is a set, but I don't know
where you go to get it. I generally don't bother, it's pretty good
without.

The only must-have is XP. Don't know if it matters whether it's Home
or Pro edition, but XP is a definite requirement.
