As far as i no, there are all the options you need under sounds in the control
panel. If your soundcart support sterio mix,
or loopback or something simular, you should be able to manage. Hope this helps.

HI Laz? I had the same problem as you until Idon't know where or how I
found out, of a feature called Playback. I'm talking from experience of
here
in Windows7 with the RealTech High Definition Audio soundcard that comes
default in Windows7. Does Windows Vista have this? Any if you have this
card, look for an option that says Playback; this Playback records both
Jaws
and my voice. Is this what you're looking for?

What would be the solution for regaining the ability to record from

 used to it.

I've considered that it may take the purchase of either an external
sound card or a mixer of some sort. If so, are there any
recommendations? My recordings aren't professional by any means, so it
doesn't have to be expensive, whatever the solution is.

Thanks in advance and happy holidays everyone!

Replay Music 6 was released about 3 weeks ago.
http://www.applian.com
Have not tested with a microphone here.
There is a blind discount code to save off the purchase price until the end of
the year.
Yes it works with Windows Vista.
You can try the demo version before you decide to buy.
