Hi Brett, depending on what you have to spend, look at the range of delta cards. From the audiophile 2496, which is very affordable, to the delta 1010. I personally have a delta 1010LT and it's fantastic for multi track recording etc. Just a thought, just depends on available cash, how many ins/outs you need etc, good luck, cheers Steve. - Original Message - From: Brett Boyer bboyer...@gmail.com To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, November 30, 2009 11:15 PM Subject: Re: Speaking of Creative labs... That is USB, isn't it? How is the latency with soft synths? That model goes back to at least 2005. Don't know what they have now. I just Googled it. Looks like they have a Cakewalk branded version now. I also thought about getting an Edirol. A friend has the FA-66 which sounds great but he doesn't do any multi-tracking with it. So, I don't know how good the firewire would work. I might also be better off with a USB version. I like that the controls are all hardware with the FA66. Hi. Well I'm not the most technical of people when it comes fm transmisions and such. I am a program director / production manager. We use lynxus cards and we have a physical processor. I've been working here for about a year and a half bb - Original Message - From: Sunshine sunsh...@abe.midco.net To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, November 30, 2009 4:34 PM Subject: Re: Speaking of Creative labs... brent, can you tell me what you use for yourdsp processing for the fm side of things? - Original Message - From: Brett Boyer bboyer...@gmail.com To: PC Audio Discussion List pc-audio@pc-audio.org Sent: Monday, November 30, 2009 5:15 PM Subject: Re: Speaking of Creative labs... They should be just fine for basic stereo recording and surround playback. But, if you are a musician or media producer, you would be better off with more professional gear. Does anybody have reccomendations for a sound card that is inexpensive and superior quality to Creative. I think people just buy creative because of the name. Similar to Bowes. RE: Speaking of Creative labs...
It also will depend to some extent where the output sound quality is concerned on what you use to listen to it. On a pair of computer speakers or home theater system you may not really hear the difference between sound cards. But if you listen to the output on a proper stereo hifi system the difference in quality may be more evident. -Original Message- From: pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org [mailto:pc-audio-boun...@pc-audio.org] On Behalf Of Robert Logue Sent: 30 November 2009 09:17 PM To: PC Audio Discussion List Subject: Re: Speaking of Creative labs...
