Yes. Use B to set beginning, and n to set end of sollection. Use CTRL+E to save the current sellection. To refine your selection, press 1 and 2 to move the beginning mark back and forth, and 3 and 4 to move the end sellection. You can also use the Pause Detection feature on the Special menu to detect pauses and set cue points which can be used to automatically split the file. I haven't done much of this but that's the theory and it probably works pretty well if you get your pause length right.
