[PD] looking for a way to dump fft~ info
I'm working on an application where I want to take a snapshot of the results of [fft~] every once in a while and send them out using OSC. The part I'm having trouble with is getting the output from [fft~]. In the help file for [fft~] they use [print~] to print out the vector coming from the [fft~] object. I think I know how to manipulate the list once I have it, so that part isn't a problem. I just want something that I can [bang( every once in a while to get the vector. Any ideas, or places I should be looking? andy ___ Pd-list@iem.at mailing list UNSUBSCRIBE and account-management - http://lists.puredata.info/listinfo/pd-list
[PD] osc on winXP
I'm not sure it's a bug or I'm missing something. I am having problems with oscx objects (Pd version 0.40.3-extended-20080721): I can create [sendOSC] but not [dumpOSC] If I open the helpfile for dumpOSC it usually (but not always!) displays fine but if I try copy/paste to another patch it doesn't work. I tried adding [import]] [declare] to no avail (closing and opening the file as well as restarting pd in between). I also tried adding oscx to the path but that doesn't stick. I managed to add other directories to the load path and next time I start pd they are there. not when I tried oscx. And the dll files are there in the correct place. Is there some mysterious incantation? thanks Oded ___ Pd-list@iem.at mailing list UNSUBSCRIBE and account-management - http://lists.puredata.info/listinfo/pd-list
Re: [PD] osc on winXP
[dumpOSC] seems to require a port argument, otherwise it will not be created correctly. Thus, you need: [dumpOSC 9393] rather than just: [dumpOSC] Also, if you try to create a second instance of [dumpOSC] with the same port as an existing instance, the new instance will not be created. I hope that helps. andy On Tue, Nov 18, 2008 at 12:43 PM, Oded Ben-Tal [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I'm not sure it's a bug or I'm missing something. Yay! I am glad to have it back! Sorry for the long downtime, basically, what I have learned is that I never want to use Mac OS X as a server again. .hc On Nov 18, 2008, at 1:11 PM, olsen wrote: Hi all crowning claudio as the hero of the day bringing pdpedia back2live back2reality: http://wiki.puredata.info/ it's now hosted at the departement of media arts at the zürich school of arts. so please feel free for testing - as ev'ry language is a wiki of its on you've to create an account for each(recommendet version) or edit with your IPs tracked! soul||soul olsen Hans-Christoph Steiner wrote: hey glerm and olsen, Sorry its taking so long. Re: [PD] fftease one more time
If you have the Mac OS X developer tools, then you can check for sure using 'lipo': [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ lipo -info pdp.pd_darwin Non-fat file: pdp.pd_darwin is architecture: i386 .hc On Nov 18, 2008, at 12:05 AM, Lao Yu wrote: I agree with you. however several people on this list pointed me to this file as the i386 version. I contacted the authors about it without reply. my knowledge in compiling code is insufficient to do it myself. As the ultimately work around I'm currently working on having Linux on my laptop. I hope I will have it done in the end of the week (I can't reformat my internal disk so I have to put it on an external one. not easy). Re: [PD] available objects in pd extended
On Nov 1, 2008, at 8:17 AM, Derek Holzer wrote: Hi Jurgen, this list has been described as a moving target here before. It changes quite frequently, and part of the Extended strategy is that the whole distribution is automatically generated from SVN, so unless there was a function somewhere to add the contents of a library to a list it would be very hard to maintain. The next best thing is to look through 5.reference at the libs available. If anyone wants to help update a manual list of the Extended objects, you can add to the Pd FLOSS Manual: http://en.flossmanuals.net/PureData/ListofObjects The Pdpedia was also a good resource for this, however it's been offline for more than a year I think. It was down for far too long, 5 months I think, but it's back now.
