FS: FA 80-200 mm 2.8 and FA 24 mm 2.0
I still have the following lenses for sale. I have reduced 10 percent the asking price for the FA 24 mm. 2.0: FA 24 mm. 2.0, LN- (almost like new), boxed, with original Pentax pouch, front and back caps and original lenshood. Only the lens hood shows slight signs of use. Price: now 450 euros, plus shipping expenses. FA 80-200 mm. 2.8 LN- (almost like new), boxed, with its original Pentax pouch and pouch strap, front and back caps and original lenshood. It's only got a small blemish: between the first and second element, it has a very small hazy spot only visible at a certain angle, which does not affect the quality of the pictures at all. I took it to my usual repair shop, and they said it wasn't fungus and it wasn't worth opening the lens to clean such a small spot. They also said that special tooling is needed to open the lens and it should be sent to an official Pentax service centre to clean it. Price: 1400 euros plus shipping expenses I am the original owner of both lenses. If you are interested in one of these items, please send a message to my email box, not the list. Shipping expenses are not included in these prices. Thank you for your attention. Carlos -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net

Re: digital and optical preview modes
It's probably a more useful mode for most people than the traditional stop down the lens temporarily DoF preview on SLRs. I have the digital preview set up to show highlight saturation and display a histogram, it becomes a useful tool for both exposure and focus evaluation this way. I switch between digital preview and optical preview now and then. Optical preview is quicker to use and in some situations I have the exposure and lighting all set up, just want to quick check my focus zone. Godfrey On Sep 15, 2007, at 12:43 AM, P. J. Re: Lightroom 1.2 and ACR 4.2 are out.
Mark pointed this out yesterday: Links and a list of Lightroom updates in v1.2 are available here: http://blogs.adobe.com/lightroomjournal/2007/09/ Amongst other things, support for the Pentax K100D Super is included. Another nice goodie I found is applicable to Pentax users with recent Pentax DA lenses. Pentax changed the lens identifier schema in the metadata so Bridge/Camera Raw and Lightroom could not list the lens names for the DA21, DA70, and DA10-17 lenses, amongst others. With Lightroom 1.2, Adobe has added an Update DNG Preview Metadata command. If I select a bunch of files and run this command, close and reopen the library, the metadata browser now shows the lens names and usage count for these lenses. skye, Sorry to hear of your problems. I sent my K10D to Pentax to repair the SD card door and scratched rear screen. I couldn't raise Phil Kerswill, but asked for rush service. They took the full 8 or 10 days but returned it in good order, but it was expensive. I had dropped the camera with the SD card door open and broke the door off near the hinge. I had left the camera in a rolling bag touching an exposed screw head and rolled it thru the airport. Tape fixed the door, but the scratching was still an issue. I opted to go for the repair. If doing it again, I'd consider selling the back-up DS and just getting a new K10D. (Did I menton it was an expensive repair!) Regards, Bob S. RE: Kenny Boy does MTF
How the hell do you build buckyballs out of iridium? It's really quite simple when you know how. Notes while before fixing: 1. firstly pull out Fire Bat, then hold closely the Brake Bat, there-after proceeds for processings. 2. while finding Gear sets throw out, Be care for the lossings of those attached accessories or, other anti-thing Broken Incidents. Fixing Manners 1. apply solid handle to turn left, while the same time those nuts and Folded items should both tear out, and note while applying adhesive elements, should make drier by dryer, that also makes easy to resolve them. 2. choosing those most suitable axle screws so, that can match well with the adapters. 3. should resolve from the top of the Body by turning left 4. insert the ear-part of the adapter in (aim on) the Body groove (hole), until while it keeps steadly while fixing for HI, putting in the Utmost bottom of the grooves (holes), then there-aftex setting-in the isolating wire and while fixing for MID, just putting in the most suitable depth of the grooves, then setting in the isolating wire, while fixing for LOW, just even setting-in for the shallow parts of the grooves. But not using for isolating wire, that is: Further besides for fixing of LOW, all must (apply) set-in the isolating wires. http://www.engrish.com/ -- Bob -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net

Re: K10 as all purpose travel camera
I would say yes. If i travel light, meaning only one camera system, i take the K10D and 16-45, 50-200 and 77Ltd. Light compact and works well. Yes and additional battery is a must. I now have 6 different Dslr's and all but 2 take a different battery and charger. Real POTA. My charge table is now huge.:-) Stan feels its not compact, but i think its good enough, I found the istD a tad to small and my D1 D2H etc are much larger than both Pentaxes. I think it fits my hand very well, and fell no need for a grip. Great scenery complimented by your well chosen composition. Tiny nit; So many of the trees appear to have a mauve tone. I wonder if my monitor is displaying their true color.(?) Epson 2100/2200 problem
Hi guys, A friend of mine is having a problem with his Epson 2100 (which is the non-US 2200 - same printer but comes with different accessories). Has anyone seen the symptoms described below? My first thought is that it needs to be run through its calibration cycle but this sounds a bit worse than that. We'd appreciate any suggestions... My printer is making thin vertical lines full length of the print. The lines are lighter regions of the image, about 0.5mm wide and 1.0mm apart using 1440dpi and about half these sizes using 2880dpi. The lines appear over the whole print. Cheers, - Dave -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net

Re: Epson 2100/2200 problem
I had a similar problem with an HP 7350. It turned out to be a low memory problem in the computer. More memory and the printer problem went away.
