Regards, Bob S. = Yes, ditto. Actually, these were the smaller rocks, say 3-4 feet, maybe a fiver in there somewhere. Looking at it again, it may have been one rock that broke up from being tumbled. Or two rocks slammed together that broke up. There were big rounded boulders near the road that had been moved (by the lava flow, ash flow, whatever) but no place to stop to shoot them. These were more interesting anyway. Thanks, Bob. Marnie aka Doe :-) - Warning: I am now filtering my email, so you may be censored. **Start the year off right. PESO - More Lassen Rocks
Just an ordinary shot. But posted as a follow up to the last. A friend told me that driving up and down Lassen was not scary. But when I got to the top and was about to drive down it (luckily there was a lookout at the peak), I discovered the trees (pines) had totally disappeared. I would have been driving down the OUTSIDE of the mountain, all bare rock, windy road, narrow, very steep drop off. It was supremely scary TO ME, so I turned around and went back down the way I had come. I decided to go UP the other side. But instead of going back to the freeway, about a 40 minute trip, I drove a back road to the other side.Lots of back roads, tiny towns (2-3 stores), and no obvious way to connect to the road that went to the mountain (there was one on the map). I got lost for an hour and a half. Got further and further away from the mountain. Finally I gave up, and luckily I was able to retrace my steps and find the road to the freeway. So I never saw the lava beds or the other side of the mountain. :-( Made me wish for GPS. On this side of the mountain were fields and fields strewn with rocks. Obviously lava-type rocks that had been spewed through the air when Lassen erupted in the 1900's. You can barely see Mt. Lassen in the background. I just thought the geology was mildly interesting. My most embarrassing travel story to date though. http://members.aol.com/eactivist/PAWS/pages/lassen2.htm Comments okay, but not necessary. However, no snickering please. Hello, This might be an easy question and I think I already have the answer but it's beyond my usual and minute area of total understanding, so: My printer can hook to my computer via USB, wired, or wireless networking. I recently acquired a wireless network router/hub thingie so I have retired my DSL modem and now have a few extra network ports now at my desk. I've had my last couple of printers on USB and before that, well... that's been a while anyway. Should I configure the printer as a network device? I don't remember who suggested it but, there should be a tricameral legislature, two houses dedicated to passing new laws, one dedicated to repealing them. OT: *grumble* Copyright infringed again (story, not photo)
Gr. I found another porn site using one of my stories, _with_my_name_filed_off_ (again), and am feeling rather grouchy about it. God knows, I'm pretty reasonable when people ask me for permission, though I do insist on a link back to my own web site. And my own copy of the story is Very Easy to find using Google, so it's not as though anybody wanting to republish it will encounter any difficulty establishing authorship or contacting me, even if hey found it at some other plagiarist site. And I could _really_ use the money from a reasonable licensing fee, considering that they didn't ask first. But somehow I doubt I've even a snowball's chance of collecting. And I'm not even getting credit for my work.
