So in a tourist town, very near the centre she remembered what someone she'd only seen once ordered. I asked her what the secret of the sandwich was, and she said it was the quality and freshness of the ingredients. When I said there must be more to it, she admitted that the mayonnaise was home-made, and I'd say that was what really took it beyond greatness! Anyway, she and her husband were very pleased that I'd enjoyed it so much, and for me it was one of those happy little experiences that make France so great. Re: Question to Google Plusers
Boris, there's no way to post anything automatically to Google+ because they haven't defined an API to push content; it's read-only. You can set Flickr to auto-post to your blog (eg Blogger) when you upload an image via email or mobile. You can also set Flickr to announce to Facebook automatically on any new image upload. Nothing happens automatically from Blogger. You have to use the share links manually. GESO - Ladies Zeppelin
Hi all, Her you'll find a gallery of pics shot by me at a Summer concert (beer festival) of a Led Zeppelin all-female cover band. This is the pic starting it all: http://www.flickr.com/photos/dariobon/9460181190/in/photostream/ I quite like those pictures (some of them more than others, of course). I missed the focus. They ran from a brightly lit part of the yard into shadow and I didn't react fast enough so the original was underexposed. Just think, if I had the fancy auto-focus, auto-exposure camera of today it would be be a technical masterpiece! Well, probably not. More likely it would be mis-focused and poorly exposed in a different way. I scanned it from a 13 year old faded slide, cropped it, tried to fix the exposure, and cloned out a bunch of junk that was cluttering up the yard. Anyway, as technically poor as it is, this photo has always been and continues to be a favorite because of the content. I'm going to make a small print. Re: Question to Google Plusers
Well, it's not _quite_ automatic posting. When you save your Blogger article it automatically pops up the G+ share UI to prompt you to post it. Sure that's useful, but I disabled it a while back because it also pops it up every time you make any small change to your posting like adding tags or correcting a spelling error. Something to be aware of is that the users at Google+ expect you to post an image to G+ itself rather than a link to an image somewhere else. For some reason G+ users (all 17 of them! :-) ) expect to see local images and will pretty much ignore any image-link posting. Google+ reinforces that too by showing off-linked images as tiny thumbnails while displaying local content as big pictures. And if you share an image to one of the G+ Groups, you will be verbally taken to task if you post a link to a blog article or Flickr page rather than local content. They like to be able to comment and +1 stuff on G+ itself rather than deal with 3rd parties, which I kind of get, but it's annoying. Google+ is too much of a closed community. I liked it in the beginning but I don't have the time to invest in so many different little gated communities. Good stuff, Dario. You should add them all to a Flickr set so folks don't accidentally navigate into bird shots. :-) Do the girls do Heart covers too by any chance? Re: Question to Google Plusers
That's a good point Bruce. You will get that message. I've posted both ways with mixed results. I have about 180 followers on G+. Not a big sample size. I actually consider the Squarespace blog my primary publishing spot, duplicating the posts on Blogger as a backup. (Who knows? Squarespace may go out of business someday. It already happened to me with another vendor.). When I put up a blog post, I post it here with a link to Squarespace if I think it's of interest to the list. The squarespace link also goes to an email list of friends. It goes on G+ either as a regular post or linked from blogger. Then a link to the Squarespace blog goes on Twitter and Facebook. All of it is public. Judging from the logs, comments, +1s, etc., even though I send most of the traffic to Squarespace, I get about half as much traffic on the Blogger/G+ combination. Given my small sample size of followers, I can't see much difference between the posts that go to Blogger via G+ and the posts that go to both places separately. I think people with a much larger number of followers would have better handle on this than I do. From what I can tell, the traffic volume (small as it is) has more to do with the title of the post than anything else. Re: Question to Google Plusers
Ralf - I think that may happen when a G+ user puts a person that isn't a G+ user in a circle. The non-G+ users would get notified by email. I put a few people in circles early on. Once I figured out how it actually worked I took them out of any G+ circles. I think that notification may even be an option that can be turned off. I haven't looked at the options for a while. Re: PESOs: Not sepia
I wished I had a smaller high quality camera just for snaps when traveling for work. Hi Christine 'A' A while back I picked up a Nikon Coolpix P7100 - a really great rangefinder digital, a little bigger than your typical P S camera. I'm thoroughly impressed by it. I wanted something smaller than a digital SLR and yet capable enough to do most of the work of a DSLR. I especially was interested in this model as it has an optical viewfinder in addition to an LCD, tiltable back. I could go on about this gem - it has most of the features of my K20D plus alot more features that the Pentax doesn't have. Unfortunately its out of production after only 2 years and replaced by another without the optical viewfinder. I got mine new for $364. Check it out. Hi Marco, Thanks for commenting. The bird shots are there to look at too! Hi John, The guitar player was a guest for the show, instead of the regular one in the band. A terrific guitar player, if you want to know! You're right Bruce. Done, and thanks for takig the time to look at that gallery. About the Heart, I guess not, as the band never talked about them.
