Re: PESO: Hotel reflection
Thanks, Dan. What caught my eye in the building was the blue-white colour combination, accentuated by the sky and the reflection in the river. The construction was started in 2010, opened in 2012, a new modern building. I can't say anything sure about the architectural style, probably a mix of modern styles. It's just a few minutes from the city center, definitely not a resort area. The water is the Crișul Repede river flowing through the city, it's around 60m wide there. I was standing on a bridge far from the hotel to get it's reflection in the water. You can find out more from Google Maps: https://www.google.com/maps/place/DoubleTree+by+Hilton+Hotel+Oradea/@47.0548152,21.9495249,17z/data=!4m2!3m1!1s0x0:0x5a16ba147a6980a4?hl=en On Thu, Aug 21, 2014 at 5:31 PM, Daniel J. Re: Imaging Resource is impressed with the 645Z
Bruce, I know you don't believe that moire really exists, but I'm afraid it does. :) I'm looking at the full-res. I see printing process dots with superimposed blobs/arcs/lines of color variations (for instance, there is a blue blob under the second R in BREWERY, and lots of fine blue/green lines on the left and right sides of the greenish area). I'm pretty sure those color variations are moire. The moire isn't as bad in the 645Z as in the other AA-filter-less cameras in the comparison (I guess because the printing dots are better-resolved by the 645Z), but it is there. Re: Imaging Resource is impressed with the 645Z
Bryan, I guess that's Moire in the Nikon and Sony images on the green of the label, maybe even the 645D. But you really need to know the dot pattern of the printing plates to critique the 645Z. I suspect under a 10X Loop the 645Z's pattern actually looks like that. Regards, Bob S. FS Friday: Cameras, lens, etc.
All items below are in used but good condition. All in original boxes with pretty much all original contents. All items have been valued members of my regular equipment mix, and all have been replaced by newer equivalents. Time to sweep out the old. All items sold will have an added shipping cost. Typically for smaller items it will be $5.95, for larger items $11.95 (using USPS flat-rate shipping). Obviously costs will be higher for shipment outside of the U.S. PayPal, check, money order, cash, whatever… Asking prices are based on a quick scan of recent eBay completed auctions and/or extrapolations for recent auctions of similar items. Continuing a policy I announced last year IIRC, I will pay a “tax” of 5% on the gross proceeds of any sale arranged through PDML, said funds going as a donation to the list meister’s PDML fund. This comes out of my pocket, not out of yours. I mention this in hopes of encouraging others to think about appropriate payback for the benefits they might have received from this group. K-5ii body. Approx 10,000 shutter activations. $450. Battery Grip BG-4 for the K-5ii, K-5, or K-7 $90 (Includes alternate battery tray allowing use of AA batteries) RRS BK7-L A Acra-Swiss compatible L-bracket for K-7/5 body $40 WG-2 (Red) Pentax underwater, sport camera. PESO: A little model
Last night had a little visitor, a walking stick, on our back deck railing. It hung out awhile so of course I just had to get the camera out seeing as it seemed to want to be my model. http://www.photocapturesbyjeffery.com/p466861514/ee8c1e8e -- Jeffery Johnson Photo Captures by Jeffery http://www.photocapturesbyjeffery.com http://www.Facebook.com/photocapturesbyjeffery https://twitter.com/PhotoCaptures Bringing joy and happiness to lonely and depressed walls across the nation with wonderful eclectic photography and Pet photo sessions for an array of pets and their families. -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

This camera (K-S1) seems intent on recapturing the smallest, lightest DSLR crown. That was my first reaction, too - this thing is tiny! Slap a pancake lens on it and it's about as small as you can make anything that has a handgrip, a K-mount, an optical viewfinder, and an APS-C sensor. I'm not tempted to buy one. But I think it might be worth considering the next time somebody asks What should I recommend for my nephew? -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Update - the WG-2 is spoken for. On Aug 21, 2014, at 11:31 PM, Stanley Halpin s...@stans-photography.info wrote: All items below are in used but good condition. We're always a bit late down here, but I join with the others in wishing Doug successful surgery and a speedy and as pain-free recovery as possible.
