Pentax K-5 II body (6000 actuations), 24mm SMC Takumar (EXC)
6000 shutter actuation Pentax K-5 II (selling only because I now have a K-3 AND a K-01, just don't need 3 great bodies). Comes with everything that comes with the Body kit (battery, charger, etc.) $475 plus actual shipping (should be about $12 to the U.S. and a bit higher to Canada). Sweet sweet Super-Multi-Takumar 24mm f3.5 with original caps and case: $199 plus actual shipping (worldwide to PDML members). If you are picky about the cosmetics of your legacy lenses, you won't be disappointed with this one. And it is priced $50 below KEH and, in addition, comes with the original Takumar hard case. Operators are standing by. -- Photographers must learn not to be ashamed to have their photographs look like photographs. ~ Alfred Stieglitz -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
Marc Newson becomes Apple employee
not exactly a stellar move IMO — his work with Pentax was not a pinnacle of functional design; but as has been noted, he may have been highly constrained in that project; i'm non-plused as well by what i've seen of his other work http://www.vanityfair.com/online/daily/2014/09/marc-newson-apple-jony-ive -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
Re: Marc Newson becomes Apple employee
Marc is one of the most influential designers of his generation, So influential that he managed to kill an entire line of Pentax products before it was effectively born. A lot of manufactures copy if not the actual product, the zeitgeist of Apple products, pretty much every smart phone looks like a iPhone, Even Leica cameras have been favorably compared to iPhones. I wonder if there are now going to be Apple iProducts that look like K-01 cameras and will they get favorable reviews because Apple makes them. Re: Marc Newson becomes Apple employee
The K-01 was rightfully laughed at by photographers while at the same time was praised in other circles and even won a design award. First and foremost I should speak about the design. Marc Newson has done an astounding job with shape and feeling of the K-01. You may have seen photos of the camera online with it’s bright yellow exterior. I opted for a white version, wanting to stand out from the crowd, but not necessarily glowing. The lines of the camera are extremely clean and simple. The body is made of machined aluminum which gives the whole thing an extreme feeling of sturdiness, much like the back of your iPad. It’s accented with a ridged rubber which helps you keep a firm grip on the camera. There’s nothing unnecessary on the K-01, just the bare minimum. I’m also happy to report that there’s no viewfinder on the K-01. It’s a digital camera with a 3″ LCD screen, why on earth would it need one? The camera also does a good job of hiding all of the ports under the rubber grip on the side of the camera, giving it an extremely unified feeling. http://www.thefoxisblack.com/2012/04/09/pentax-k-01-the-best-and-coolest-camera-ive-ever-used/ On Fri, Sep 5, 2014 at 8:01 PM, P.J. PESO - Guitar Walking
I don't get it either. I mean, it's an electric guitar so no one on the street could hear him. Looks like he's got a wireless transmitter, but to where? http://knarfinthecity.blogspot.ca/2014/09/guitar-walking.html?m=1 Rather intense looking, too. Hope you enjoy. Comments welcome.
