He detunes it to about 1000 horsepower for normal driving, about the same as a Bugatti Veyron. That’s accomplished mainly by reducing the amount of supercharger boost. Re: Photographing on ice
Igor, I've never shot in an ice rink, but I've done a fair amount with really strange lighting (allegedly white, not colored lights shining on bands), often from mixed sources. I shoot RAW, and either before or after the shoot I pull out a plastic grey card I carry in my bag, and wander about the venue shooting it. Then I use the color temperature eyedropper in Lightroom to correct the RAW image based on the appropriate grey card reading. If you hunger for some tedium, you can use the Brush tool to correct different areas of the photo differently. Re: K-1 vs K-3
Its probably worth some experiments. I find that AF on my K5 slows down rapid fire shots. If I turn it off, its way faster. So it might not be the buffer. Re: August PUG is up
Ken Waller's "Daybreak" is my favorite. The rhythm of the repeating patterns is the water is mesmerizing, and the diagonal compositions grabs and hold the eye. The sunrise colors are enhanced by the dark brooding mountains beneath them, and the wake of the boar in the lower right gives the sense of motion through the tranquility of the scene. I was fascinated by Malcolm's "Long Shadow," since I have taken a number of macroscian images. This one works quite well, to my eye. Re: If you were teaching a photography class...
It's a pity there isn't something like the K1000 in digital. Nowadayd the cheap cameras are fully automatic. The non-P cameras start complicated and to get simplicity you have to pay increasingly large amounts of money. The world's turned upside down.
