Masham railway station is a chronological anomaly that only appears when its
favourite son comes visiting from t'big city down south. It's the other train
that goes from platform 9.75 at King's Cross. One of the staff was born in 1863
- he's the tea boy. Once Bob goes, it's back into limbo for the whole place.

Re: OT: What Next?

2017-02-07 Thread John

Thanks for the suggestion.

My current motherboard only has internal headers for USB 2.0. I'd need
to find a USB 3.0 add-in card that has internal USB 3.0 headers to use
any of these. So far, I haven't found a card with the necessary internal
USB 3.0 headers.

It turned out I must have damaged the USB Mini-B plug on the cable where
it connects to the powered hub. I swapped in a spare cable, and the hub
is working again.

So, as I half-suspected the first of the two foggy river shots is in fact in
colour as posted in the gallery.

Never one to disappoint a customer, here it is in colour followed by two
slightly different black & white treatments.

You could make a colossal hollowed-out facility in one of your mountains for
all your mugs, and have a sliding canopy so that James Bond could abseil into a

"Do you expect me to sip, Matyola?"
"No, Mr. Bond. I expect you to die!"

If I had enough shelf space I'd display a basement in my office. Probably the

Very interesting Ann. Its amazing the things you'll find in a thrift
store sometimes. When we lived in Boston, since many of my wife's
relatives lived in Maine, we would sometimes go up Rt 1 and stop by
beat up antique stores, they usually had the cheapest and most unusual
stuff. The shiny stores usually were overpriced. Its these trips
where she bought lots of her favorite depression glass for a song.

I rationalize acquiring new mugs (read.. 99 cents at the Sal army) as
mostly I do plan to ebay them... today I shipped
a Hey HO The Ramones themed mug. Joey Ramone and I shared a dentist.
Starbucks mugs always sell.. some take longer than others.

Kliban mugs (ANYTHING genuine Kliban ) is profitable.

Mostly I have mugs, but there are perhaps around 40 delicate cups and
saucers that are so lovely but definitely out of vogue.

The most I ever made was selling 4 Denis Vibert (PIne Tree Kiln in
Maine) mugs( that I had bought 6 of for 99 cents each at a NYC Sally

I've kept the other two - this was maybe 5 years ago... not only did

I am pretty sure that happens to all Goldfinches in winter. The males
especially get their most colorful plumage for the breeding season, and it
naturally fades later in the season.

No es possible senorita! We got like 4 levels of a full cabinet full
of active mugs, then there are the boxes with (inactive) mugs of days
past when my wife basically collected them and put them on a shelf
that went around a pretty large dining room in an old victorian we
lived in in Pennsylvania. I should try to put them all on the floor
(no where else would they fit) and take a pic. That would be
interesting. In my travels, I brought cups from all over to her,
including a very nice bone china one from Harrod's of London, some
from India, Japan, etc. I'm sure we will be bringing some back from
Australia and New Zealand too at the end of the year.

I like all the others equally - not a top sport missed as far as I can
tell.

2017-02-07 Thread Bob W-PDML
Thanks. I think the door & window shots tend to be a bit samey. Variations on a
theme, and perhaps better as a subset of something else. But I do them a lot.

I like that foggy one, too. I was quite surprised when I saw it in LR. The
composition works well.

In Arthur's salon you can see some Theakston's publicity material. The brewery
itself is not that interesting, unless you could photograph the process, but
that's probably not very different to the Meantime brewery just round the
corner from me.

We did have a drink in the White Bear, which is confusingly a Theakston's pub
next to the Black Sheep brewery, but I'm not supposed to drink beer any more
because of gout, so I only had one. The pub is apparently a bit tame compared
to my friend's wild teenage years when it was a pub rock venue.
