Re: (large) GESO, Oregon Ospreys
Quite an impressive set, Larry. From the total 2200 frames you should have more than enough images to make some time lapse videos of Osprey flight dynamics. I don't know if your Bigma is the HSM version or not but the AF is obviously quite fast. I've tried the Sigma 170-500 on birds & find the screw drive AF is too slow. On the upside, three months ago any one of these would have been the best osprey photo I had ever gotten. I do have the photos in the set arranged thematically. As much trouble as I had getting clear shots (this is trimmed down from 2200 frames shot over several days at/near two different osprey nests), it makes me truly appreciate the skill required to get good photos with manual focus lenses using film. A quarter of these were shot at ISO 1000 or above and about half were at 640 or above. They also show my lack of skill at post processing. They were all shot with the bigma on the K-3 II. Re: K3 II image count on SD Cards
No issue at all. If you remove the card or anything it will default to the next card. Whatever card was inserted in first is the default. The indicator on the top plate LCD just shows the remaining shots on the card you are currently using. In the info screen on the back it highlights where it is saving images. Yeah if you are using spillover its always a good idea to make sure both cards are clear before your format in case this sort of thing happens. Re: K3 II image count on SD Cards
I have it set to save only DNG files and have it set for SD 1 and when full it is to start recording to SD 2. What my confusion is with the total it shows on the back of the camera. Example: On back of camera it shows card holds 250 images in SD1 and when I fill the card up and it does as it should and records to the next card. Shouldn't the number that remains on the menu for SD1 be 0 available? It shows a high number that is still available. I hope that makes some sense. I have had a really really bad day at my day job and my brain is not fully functioning at the moment. Trying my best not to worry or be overly stressed but keeps getting harder and harder to be optimistic and to make any sort of future plans. Sorry don't mean to vent. Jeffery On 7/27/2017 11:24 AM, Stanley Halpin wrote: I am not sure I understand. A little more information please… How do you have your cards set up? I.e., are you recording to both cards at once? Or do you have slot 1 as the default, then rolling over to slot 2 when the first card is full? Or do you switch back and forth between the two cards during the day depending on subject matter or whatever? Are both cards the same size? Also note that usually Lightroom and other such programs are set to only import New images. Were both cards Formatted in camera before your recent session? If not then maybe you have many more images on one or both cards; you camera sees them but your LR won’t pay attention to them… That would definitely confuse the count. I have always set the two slots with DNG capture on slot 1, simultaneous jpeg capture on slot 2 and so have never had exactly your situation. stan -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.

Re: K3 II image count on SD Cards
I am not sure I understand. I have always set the two slots with DNG capture on slot 1, simultaneous jpeg capture on slot 2 and so have never had exactly your situation. stan > On Jul 26, 2017, at 7:56 PM, PhotoCapturesbyJeffery.com >wrote: > > I ended up saving up and got the K3II.
