Thanks, Bob. I think part of the effect might be from over exposing the 
film and then pull processing it, but I can't say that for certain since 
I get inconsistent results with that technique.

Thanks Igor. The b ones are in a high-ish contrast Lightroom preset, by 
choice. There is detail in some of the shadows if you squint enough. 

The jogger had the sun behind her, in contrasty light. The picture's not good 
enough to spend much time trying to lift the shadows.

But on my screen they seem to be a bit too dark. The deep shadows are too 
deep. This is especially  apparent on the high-contrast photos (woman with 
a dog, and several B shots, - with a kid eating, with a guy reading, 
...)


There is a chance it might be my monitor.
It's been a while since I calibrated it (some time in the spring?), but if 
anything, it usually is too bright than the other way around.
