Re: PESO - Maui Sunset
I really like that image. Where on Maui was it ta The tree looks familiar. First, I love Maui and especially aui sunsets. I have photographed hundreds of Maui sunsets myself. Second, you have really captured the experience. All that is missing is the glass of wine. I love the color and the composition. The tree is well placed, land the inclusion of the people enlivens the image. You have really filled me with the Aloha spirit! 33 days, and I will be there, with my glass on wine, watching the sun set over Lanai from Keawakapu beach. I have a client who owned a Holiday Inn franchise. A few years back, he was notified that they were terminating a third of their franchises, and established a list of upgrades that were being required in order to stay in the system. Re: K-5 Metadata Issue - solved
It seems the problem isn't anything to do with the camera it's a bug in the software I've been using for image management (Zoner Photo Studio 17). My workflow has been to use ZPS17 to add descriptors/keywords etc and then send images needing further processing from ZPS17 to Photoshop, but I've just discovered that as soon as I save the descriptors in ZPS17, the Lens Info (and presumably the full Maker Notes metadata) disappears. Fortunately, I also have Zoner Photo Studio 18 (I prefer the interface of the earlier version which is why I've been using it) Anyway, I've just tested some images in ZPS18 and the bug has apparently been fixed - so I'll be using that version in future. Back to that drink... Re: K-5 Metadata Issue
Hi Zos Thanks for the suggestions but things are becoming even weirder... It seems that the camera is actually recording the Maker Notes. I just checked the metadata on the SD card for recent images and all metadata is present, but the Maker Notes are missing for those same images that had been copied across to my hard drive. What's even more frustrating is that I can't now reproduce the problem. I just took a couple of photos, copied the images across to the hard drive - and all metadata is present. I need a drink... Try reflashing the firmware on it. It might just be something weird. No lens data in lightroom either? I would guess not if exiftool isn't reporting it. K-5 Metadata Issue
This is a bit odd. This morning I wanted to check the lens that I'd used on my K-5 a few weeks ago. I opened the image in ExifTool and found the Lens field blank. Very strange, I thought, because I've only been using AF lenses. Anyway, on further checking I found that the entire Maker Notes section of the metadata was absent and I know that it had been recorded in the past. As near as I can make out, the camera stopped recording the Maker Notes in November 2015. All previous images have the complete metadata - all subsequent ones have no Maker Notes. Anyone have any idea why this might be the happening? Re: OT: Coffee
I use a Keurig machine nowadays most of the time, with Boyd's coffee pods. These pods are 100% biodegradable (and are darn good coffee too!). Boydscoffeestore.com ... really good stuff if you use a Keurig (and maybe other) machine. PESO/GESO - snow in Texas
Hi All, I've been busy with some travels and other things. But last night's even got me pulling the camera out and quickly posting a few photos. This has been the biggest snow in central Texas that I've seen in about a decade. The snow started late evening, went for a couple of hours, and stayed till morning. We used to see snow here 1-2 times per year, but except for one in 2013 that lasted for half a day, it was usually staying for no more than 1-2 hours. Surprisingly, the ISD didn't cancel the school this morning. (I suspect they were so shocked that they remained speechless. :-) ) I understand, it is nothing special for many PDMLers who live up north, but a very special event (of the life!) for some kids here. https://42graphy.org/galleries/2017-12-07-snow/_IR43463.html (You can see a palm tree on the left covered in snow.) https://42graphy.org/galleries/2017-12-07-snow/_IR43446.html Here is a gallery if someone is interested: https://42graphy.org/galleries/2017-12-07-snow/ (I should've culled out quite a bit tighter, but I just posted it very quickly this morning, more as "news" photos, to share with friends and family.) Cheers, Igor -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
