Thanks, John. I thought when I got Larry’s response that I wasn’t going to need this link. When I didn’t find it in Lightroom’s display of exif data I tried the link and got what I wanted. And now I see that exif data is way more than could be efficiently or helpfully displayed in Lightroom, that they have to be selective, and that, I assume, since shutter count has little relevance to image processing, it’s not included. > On Feb 9, 2018, at 11:53 AM, John wrote: > > http://shuttercounter.com/ > > On 2/9/2018 07:30, Eric Weir wrote: >> I’m selling my K-5. OT: Interviewee stole photos (for portfolio) of the interviewer
One of my mentors and former bosses once received (from a journal editor) for refereeing a scientific article submitted for publication, - with the results obtained by his group, but the article was written and submitted by a person who was the sole author on the article. That person had spent some short time as a visitor in the said group/lab and was not even the lead person on that project: he was only briefly involved in that project (so, he could've been an author on the article submitted from that lab, but not the first/second author.) So, in essence that "author" stole those results by attributing them to himself. Here is a similar story from the photography world: https://fstoppers.com/humor/stolen-portfolio-interviewer-realizes-his-photos-were-stolen-interviewee-219822 Sometimes you realize how small the submarine is... Apparently, they have reworked the website (lik.com), removing the two full-moon photos that were being debunked by Fstoppers. I suspect they regenerated web-galleries. So, the new link is https://lik.com/collections/skies/products/lunar-eclipse BTW, the two photos with full-moons were in this collection just 2 days ago: https://lik.com/collections/skies I am guessing if I were to publish my OP in this thread on a more visible website, where it would be picked up by many news outlets (petapixel, boingboing, etc.) - he'd be removing this eclipse photo too, or at least changing the title. So, enjoy while it is still there! [tongue in cheek] Igor Jostein Fri, 09 Feb 2018 03:06:17 -0800 wrote: Link gone dead. Found another link, with suggested retail price and all. That's true, but for the money one could buy a say K-3, a 600mm a 1.4x converter, a very sturdy tripod, and have about a thousand dollars left over, to have a nice print of about 2 feet by 3 feet made and custom framed, after which you've got the camera and lens to start a photography hobby or become a voyeur, whichever... In the third paragraph they mention Rhine II which has something important with Lik's work, it's highly manipulated, and not at all representative of the scene as recorded, at least the Cindy Sherman work also mentioned was made using a method that makes endless mechanical reproduction somewhat more difficult due to the process being long out dated.
