It does take some patience...If I remember correctly I used a straight
paper clip and one with a small "L" bent on the end as tools and was
able to maneuver the piece(s) around so when I tipped the camera they
were able to fall out.

good call, unfortunately the contacts act like barbs to keep the piece in.

It’ll take some interesting work to remove

https://www.dailycameranews.com/2021/04/new-firmware-updates-for-pentax-k-1-ii-k-3-k-3-ii-k-70-cameras/
Pentax K-1 Mark II camera comes with a newly incorporated accelerator unit with
the PRIME IV imaging engine to achieve high-speed operation and excellent
noise-reduction. As a result the ISO range has also been extended up to ISO
819200.

But I don’t see anything about that in the updates.

I had a similar problem with my K-5.  Using a good magnifying glass
check the bottom of the card slot for bits of plastic.  I found pieces
in the slot that appeared to look like they were from a damaged SD card,
although I could never identify which one.  I managed to fish the pieces
out and the latch has worked properly since.

I got home in the wee hours last night, moved my catalogs to the home machine,
and the bad files seem to be reloading OK on the desktop. So, yay.

There seems to be one file damaged in some other way that I can’t recover.

If only that A7sIII was inside the MZ-D, even today that would be a camera to

NOMADLAND is indeed a great movie! I hope it wins the Oscar.

I love Frances McDormand as an actress.

The Coen Brothers had another specific actress in mind when they wrote
Blood Simple (I forgot exactly who). She told them she couldn't do it,
because she had contracted for another film, but suggested they might like
her roommate -- McDormand. They did like her, especially Joel.
