Those are almost Godfreyesque.

About a year ago about 900 homes burned down in our community and I suspect
(hope) that some infrastructure improvements are happening in the area because
of that. There have been a lot of cryptic marks on the pavement (I also live on
HWY 9, the main road for the San Lorenzo Valley so any infrastructure for the
15-20,000 people in SLV tends to go past my house). There are also some other
projects that were probably already in the queue anyways.

For years I had seen something like USA cable painted on pavement, and I had no
idea who that was. I recently learned that USA stands for Underground Service
Advisory, telling folks to not dig right there, or alternatively where to dig.

Thanks for looking and commenting, Larry!

This is a shot I grabbed Thursday while trying to see what fall colors I
could find in our yard. I like your suggestion about cutting off one of
the cones and bringing it indoors for a more interesting photographic
treatment, and I might give that a try this weekend or next week.

Re: Why we are not posting - WAS: November PUG is Up

2021-11-05 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
I have been taking photos fairly regularly over the past year, but I
haven't been posting much here because most of them -- for various reasons
-- have been taken with my iPhone 12 Pro Max, rather than with Pentax
cameras.

This thread has inspired me, however, and I went out Thursday and took a
few fall images around our yard. There was nothing special, but I enjoyed
the exercise. I processed one of the images tonight, and just posted it
as a PESO. I will make an effort to post images here more frequently,
Pentax images when possible, and iPhone images occasionally as well.

That will give the experts here a reason to sharpen their pens and their
knives.

I sincerely hope that more members and lurkers will try to post more
images, so that we can have the pleasure of viewing a wide variety
of images here. I always learn something from looking at the work of other
Pentax photographers and participating in discussions about their images.

That’s a lovely plant. I’d love to do some low key rembrandt light closeups
of one of those. I don’t suppose you have a remote cord for a speedlght so
you could do something like that? Or I suppose bring one inside and just set

I have a feeling that I'd rather not know what they're thinking. :-)

What sort of branch is it in #2, and what is the background?

#3 is a great Halloween pic. One might darken the sky a bit and increase the
contrast.

I agree Ralf!

Their attitude reminds me of what I often see from people when I use a large
lens on the camera for street photography.

Re: PESO-Paris Street 2007

2021-11-05 Thread Stanley Halpin
Thanks John, and Ralf and Rick…

I was in Paris for a series of meetings, the kick-off of a project. This day
once I was free I had taken the Metro across town to Montmartre area, up to the
Sacré-Coeur for views of the city, and then I wandered throughout that
neighborhood.
