For those of you who couldn't make it, here is a picture of monarchs: http://panix.com/~johnf/Monarchs.jpg Not as many as in some previous years, but a lot better than recently! Not taken with a Pentax, I'm afraid; this was my first trip out of the house with the new Olympus M1X & 40-150/2.8. I'm quite pleased with it. -- %(real_name)s Pentax-Discuss Mail List To unsubscribe send an email to pdml-le...@pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
Re: December PUG is up
I agree that Bill Robb’s photo gets the blue ribbon this month! The prize for the best title should go to Eric for “impathable.” (Either very clever, or he was using voice recognition with a bad lisp.) Dan, as you may know Randall Thompson set a set of Frost’s poems to music in his choral work “Frostiana,” which begins with “The Road Not Taken.” I’ve sung Frostiana enough that I don’t need the score anymore, and I love it. “I shall be telling this with a sigh Somewhere ages and ages hence. Two road diverged in a wood and I, I took the one less travelled by. And that has made all the difference.” Henk, how large are those ugly slugs anyway? Joe, I feel the same way. We haven’t been to Asia, but my wife and I were getting to Europe for work (with some holiday attached) once or twice a year. My last trip was one to London in April 2019. I surmise that the photo is Notre Dame; the fire was agonizing to watch on TV, and I’m neither French nor Catholic. I liked all of them, but I was taken by Jan van "Wijk's Apache Trail, Arizona" because I've been there too. I recognize that spot on the trail. I have a friend who lives in Mesa, AZ just a few miles from the southern terminus in Apache Junction.
