Re: Pentax 18-250 - stuck in the "locked" zoomed out position

2022-08-26 Thread Igor PDML-StR

A delayed follow-up:

The rubber grip is not glued, and it was much easier to pull it up and
fold a half of it over the rest than I was expecting.

Tightening the screw fixed the issue completely.

It took 2-3 minutes once I had the lens and the right tools (a bamboo
splint and a very small Phillips screwdriver) at the same location,

and the courage to do it. :-)

Cheers,
Igor

I've found this "recipe" and tempted to try it:
http://usefulbulk.com/pentaxlens/

I wonder how "universal" the solution (and the culprit) discussed there.

I am also thinking how to deal with the rubber grip (Is it glued? What would
I do if it breaks?)

All suggestions are appreciated.

BTW, my FA 77/1.8 Ltd 's focus also got stuck on the same day.
Outbreak of Lensovid-22? ;-)

I had that. Known issue. Pentax EU HQ in Germany fixed mine free of charge.
I know the son of their retired head of service. I can try to ask.

Hi All!

I have Pentax 18-250 lens - the one designed with (by) Tamron, - the
earlier version of it. Suddenly, I cannot zoom in with it, - it is stuck in
the shortest focal length position.
This lens has a "lock" - to prevent it from extending accidentally (under
its own weight). I wonder if something happened inside this lock, and the
top piece is not engaged with the inner part of the locking mechanism.

Has anybody experienced this?
Has anybody seen a drawing of this lock's design?
Any suggestions on how to get it "unstuck"?

I hate what the NASCAR chute has done to turns 4 and 7, particularly 7.

I guess that 8, 8A and 9 aren’t as different as they seem, but my mental image
is totally wrong, and I found that I kept wanting to drive off the “bus stop”
chicane exiting 8A.

It is interesting, to me, that as I started carrying more speed, closer to what
I used to do, it became easier for me as my rhythms came back.

Thanks, the speed will come. As they say, you can’t win a track day, but you
can sure lose.

It was interesting talking to John, it seems that my line through 11 was a bit
different than a lot of the drivers, as in I got several feet closer to the
tires than anyone else.

Nicely done. Smooth for the most part if not as fast as you might like. Good

I was playing with a gopro for the first time last weekend. This wasn’t my
fastest lap but it starts with an amusing lesson on a premature attmept at a
pass. There are a bunch of places that I could knock off a bunch of time by
just keeping my foot on the floor and also later and harder braking. Last
weekend was my first time on sticky tires in about 15 years, I was last at this
track about 8 years ago, and before that about 15 years ago, and it was my
first weekend at any track with this car. So, especially with the fun I had the
day before with brakes,

Re: GESO - Metropolis

2022-08-26 Thread ann sanfedele
Torlaf .. I read a lot of responses beofre I chimed in, and glad I did
since I better understood what your slant was..
The 6th photo, the open space with buldings faintly emerging in the
distance is very powerful and painterly.  it rather looks like
those drawings architects make to show what they are planning for the
future.
the one preceding it  gave me a giggle - looks like the monument to the
mand in the middle is eying the scooter(?) left in font of him
and the overall geometry is nice.   for most of the others, I'd
personally prefer to see stronger lines and less of the overexposed look -
but that's just me.  your site doesnt let me enlarge the photos enough
for me(with my eye promlems)to see them clearly... on my monitor (HP
desktop< Windows 7 pro running) The largest I can make an image is the
size of a 5 x 7 print..  is that just a clash of software across the
seas or intentional ?
I usually have the opposite problem viewing some work too large to see
the entire frame and I have to shrink it.

anyway, nice work as usual

Thanks for looking. Or alternatively for ignoring it completely, which

This is plain, old Oslo. Several shots are from recently developed areas.

I'm not sure it qualifies as a Metropolis, really, but I was looking for
