Re: PESO: Woodpecker
I quite like the photo with the heron and goose. My inner 12 year old really wants to make a bunch of juvenile jokes about wet beaver, fortunately I'm too mature to pass them on. > On Mar 31, 2024, at 1:54 PM, John Sessoms wrote: > > So I finally got out of the house to make some photographs. PESO: Woodpecker
So I finally got out of the house to make some photographs. I made good use of the bag for the 600/4 I received as a gift from someone here on the list. It works a treat. Went down to Shelley Lake in Raleigh to photograph the eagles' nest. Re: Grey Heron (continued)
Interesting. The African sub-species has black legs all the year round. The yellow bill darkens partly during the breeding season. We have another slightly smaller one here (the Yellowbilled Egret - still much bigger than the Little Egret) which is more like the one you describe. I'll be on the look out! Mike, this is somewhat spooky, because your posts always end up in my spam box, which I egret. However, I have given up to bother about mail problems. With outlook and gmail failing sometimes on incoming mail, I'm back on thunderbird with my provider's mail address.
