I’ve heard it’s more like 20,000 gang members with guns.. Hell, you can find 
1000 armed gang members in 3 southside high schools. Don’t know how this 
happened. We were doing well in the ‘70s with a lot of good southside schools 
making constant improvement. Even the west side was looking up. It all went in 
the toilet. Meanwhile the limousine liberals on the near north side look the 
other way and pretend that they’re the reality of Chicago. I love Chicago, I 
love my southside, and I’m angry that my home town was allowed to get so out of 
control.

There are hundreds of lakes within 20 miles of Detroit and numerous verdant 
state parks. Having grown up in Chicago I can assure you that metro Detroit is 
far more unspoiled.
