True, however I use PayPal sometimes for payments to e.g. US suppliers

I had an account with them a few years ago and paid for a few things with my
credit card through the account, re-entering my credit card details each time.
After a while I had a message from them saying I could no longer do it that way
but would have to link to a bank account.

I have heard a number of horror stories over the years from trustworthy people,
including a member of my family, who linked bank accounts and ended up in some
sort of dispute which ended with PP taking money from their accounts which, in
my informants’ opinions, they weren’t entitled to do.

So basically Paypal can fuck off.

paid by it rather than paypal. No fees and it goes directly into your bank
account rather than into a paypal account where you need to eventually transfer
from into your bank account. If Doug can set that up, it might expedite
getting money without using paypal. When I was trying to pay someone via check
on online banking, WF suggested zelle instead, so it can be easy to set up.

It allowed you to pay without an account, though. Any way to do that without
the gateway it provided?

Embrace the power of and. I was suggesting that he also link with Zelle. But
I didn’t realize that it was regional.

In Europe, cheques have disappeared almost completely. Here in Germany,
they have to be ordered individually and cost a fortune in fees.

Send him a check in the mail?

BTW, I discovered something called Zelle, when my tango instructor asked to be
paid by it rather than paypal. No fees and it goes directly into your bank
account rather than into a paypal account where you need to eventually transfer
from into your bank account. If Doug can set that up, it might expedite
