Fine, be that way. :)
I honestly couldn't see enough difference to see a difference. I've done
some awesome noise reduction with Denoise, but they were horribly noisey
images to begin with.

That’s right up there with mistaking the “photo” portion of the url with the
“album” portion of the url, and not looking at the actual filename.

Like I said, the differences between denoise and not is subtle

LR denoise test (OT)

2023-05-29 Thread Larry Colen
Off topic because this was taken with the u4/3. I was almost home from a bike
ride yesterday and saw a hawk flying across the road with a squirrel.

I made all sorts of rookie mistakes which caused me to lose what would have
been the best photos. I didn’t change the ISO from base (200) which I had been
using for the sunny landscape. I also didn’t set the focus to single point, so
it Looked like it was selecting the bird when it was selecting the leaves
behind the bird. Anyways,

here is the base shot:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/52930880399/in/album-72177720308610941/

here it is with LR denoise:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/52933253792/in/album-72177720308610941/

I would say that for this shot, the difference is noticeable, but not
miraculous.

Since Ann will likely want to look at the rest of the album:
https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/albums/72177720308610941
I included several “blown” frames of another bird harassing the hawk.
Since I hadn’t been very good about changing from the tank top to a T-shirt
when I should of, it turned out that the hawk wasn’t the only one who was red
shouldered.

And while I’m off topic, the rest of the photos from the ride, some showing my
new to me bike, a humming bird on a wire, and some burros. Also a strange
bright blue ball which I think must be some rotting foam ball, but which almost
looks like some weird fungus.
