Re: PESO - Moonlit Boats
I liked the overall mood and the good use of the fisheye. Recently I have read something (probably mentioned in this list) that it may be better to shoot twice in such a circumstance: One for the sky and one for the boats. The presence of a dark frame (trees) around the sky should make merging those two images a piece of cake. That may help getting a crispier sky as the moon and the clouds will be exposed for a sigrificantly shorter time. Re: PESO - Moonlit Boats
DId you take any with a non-fisheye? So neat that you climed all those peaks, Rick -- I didn't read the post where you mentioned the times you hiked the 4,000's until after I'd responded to you first post with the photo. I'm envious. Didn't do much camping after broke up with Sanfedele, what there was was almost always on my own... subsequent mates were not interested in roughing it. But virtually all vacation time in the 60's and 70s that I could manage was spent in New England and I lived in Orono Maine for 3 years. NOrth Conway was a favorite spot to stay. ann On 8/13/2011 22:37, Rick Womer wrote: By the light of a brilliant full moon: http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=14010753size=lg (K7, DA 10-17 fisheye) Rick -- PDML Pentax-Discuss Mail List PDML@pdml.net http://pdml.net/mailman/listinfo/pdml_pdml.net to UNSUBSCRIBE from the PDML, please visit the link directly above and follow the directions.
Re: PESO: Dragon Boats
Thanks, Brian. The colors caught my eye, but I was also drawn by the contrast with the USS Constellation, see in the background, together with its museum. Perhaps you were expecting a dragon boat like the one in this old can from a 1966 Spotmatic image: http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=12034632 One of these day I need to clean up the slide and try to get a better scan of this old boat. Re: PESO: No boats
Yeah, it bugs me too but it was a quick snap while my kids were running at full speed towards where the water actually was... This, like most other lakes in Georgia is a man-made lake managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. By the end of the summer, it's usually down by several feet from full pool but this year has been especially dry so it WAY down.
