I'll take this opportunity to thank everyone for their feedback and respond to various questions. WRT the Pentax World Photoshoot, I noticed that Dario Bonazza and John Francis have contributed general photos, but not Pentax World Day shots. I saw a few other PDML names (hi, Cesar!) but without photos. My pano didn't take much patience, Godfrey - 5 quick shots, handheld, and automatic stitching in Arcsoft Panorama Maker 3. Very quick and dirty. As I *try* to do all the time, for this shot I followed Galen Rowell's primary rule of photography: Start with good light and then look for a subject. I was driving home from a video production meeting and we started to get this wonderful golden light before sunset so I got off the expressway and looked for high ground :) The clouds not only make the photo more interesting, they help the pano-stitching software get a grip on the sky. (Panorama Maker 3 isn't very good at dealing with clear blue skies.) I'll be bring a large (as large as I can make) print to GFM in June :)

I'd look into it, but at present my ISP has some odd ideas about how to get to remote corners of the 'net (such as, say, New York).

RE: PESO: Pano shot for Pentax World Photoshoot
Hi Mark A very good contribution, I only recognized Dario Bonazza so far on the project list and have no shot from that day myself. I made a panorama of 6 shots using the Pentax 50mm A1.7 on film with a view of the old city part of Zurich from Lindenhof (Rick Womer will know that view)some weeks ago and the river limmat had a similar curve like the river in your panorama in the final pano. Is this a fault of the panorama software or an effect of the used lens or just the reality here? greetings Markus -Original Message- From: Mark Roberts [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Wednesday, March 22, 2006 12:19 AM To: pentax-discuss@pdml.net Subject: PESO: Pano shot for Pentax World Photoshoot Here's a larger (400 x 1300) version of the photo I shot for the Pentaxians project on March 19. http://www.robertstech.com/temp/pghpano2.jpg 5 images stitched and cropped. ist-D, 31mm Limited, ISO 200, 1/250 sec, f/5
