Marnie, this is actually our neighbor's trampoline, too. They are
rarely home, and don't mind us borrowing it every now then. It's
built over a pit, so the tramp is at grade...My daughter loves it,
she's a gymnast, so she actually has some pretty cool moves on it,
too. I've tried it, but... it makes me seasick. I think I may have
aged out of trampolining

While most twins (self included) abhor the idea of dressing alike in public,
you are ritually mocked if you show up at a Twins Days festival without
matching gear.

And God help you if you show up with mis-matching beards/glasses, etc.!

I don't find it offensive, just incomprehensible.

Humans originally took to wearing clothes for protection (cold),
decoration and convenience (belts and pockets). You could also
add hygiene as a legitimate reason.

Unlike animals, humans have subsequently adopted strange notions
that certain bits of bodies are offensive or indecent or something.

In this context, the phrase like naked animals (lacking strange
hang-ups) is to me, more of a compliment than an insult.

Moi aussi.

Re: PESO - Jump

2006-07-26 Thread DagT
I have a problem even reading PDML at work, simply because it is not
what I´m paid for (and being one of the owners I guess I should be a
good example). For that reason a person watching porn at work could
loose his job, even here.

Once in a while, when I´ve had to search for things on the web as
part of my work, I have stumbled upon porn. Sure, I back off once I
see what kind of link it was, but that is a very long way from
fearing prosecution because it is kept in the cache on the computer,
as some have claimed may happen in the US and Canada.

Actually it is interesting. All three kids are able to dress

I don't have as much problem with it as my previous posts might imply.
 Sorry
for coming across as offensive. Thinking other's customs are strange, and
showing a degree of tolerance works both ways though.

The whole thing started of course, because of Dag's photo, and a number of
us responded with requests to post a warning in the future, which he
 agreed
to do, unless he forgets. I think that's fair.

However, IMO, he's continued to display some degree of belligerence after

When the local Costco opened, one of the most prominent signs was one

Everyone will wear shoes This was Tyneside in November, where everyone

People were photographing the sign. It didn't last a week.

In North America, there is not a solid line dividing non kiddie porn nude

Of course not, but it does help to use your brain.

In the US, at least, artists like Sally Mann has NOT been arrested for making
kiddie porn. That shows very clear that a picture of a naked child is not
automatically regarded as kiddie porn even though her children sometimes
indicate some sexuality. The same goes for Jock Sturges, who has published
several books with naked people of all ages.

From a legal aspect this means that the limits existing in your head, and
which you try force upon others, is much stricter than the legal practice in
reality is.

Another thing: sometimes your language is of the kind that I do not want my
children to use. Can you please put a warning in the subject line next time?

While I'm not offended by the human body, if I was at a public park and saw
pre-pubescent older children running around naked I would likely leave.
That being said, I don't enjoy looking at this kind of picture either. And
even more, I question the need to show this kind of picture.

Call me a prude or North American or whatever you want. I question why one
HAS to show pictures of naked children when one could show pictures of them
clothed.

If Dag posted a naked picture of his wife, might some consider that porn? I
would suggest so. Now, show naked pictures of children. It's just a step

Interesting change in values here. It used to be naked children were not
considered offensive, the boys were actually required to swim in the
nude at school. Now it is porn. At one time it was considered indecent
for a woman to show her ankle, now they wear very skimpy bikinis in
public --and not just at the beach, but it is supposed to be evil to
photograph them doing it. The mores of society are strange indeed.

You miss my point. It was that if a naked picture of an adult is considered
'normal porn' by some, then it's quite easy to see how a naked picture of a
child could be considered 'child porn' by some, using the same logic. If a
person in a position of authority, thought it was 'child porn', then in
their mind a person viewing it would be guilty of said crimes being
discussed.

Once again you are writing as if I am making an argument I am not making.

You miss my point. It was that if a naked picture of an
 adult is considered
'normal porn' by some, then it's quite easy to see how a
 naked picture of a
child could be considered 'child porn' by some, using the
 same logic. If a
person in a position of authority, thought it was 'child
 porn', then in
their mind a person viewing it would be guilty of said crimes being
 discussed.

Once again you are writing as if I am making an argument I am
 not making.

If Dag posted a naked picture of his wife, might some
   consider that porn? I
would suggest so. Now, show naked pictures of children.
   It's just a step
   away.

If you don't know why there's a difference I think you
 should get some
 counselling.

 Bob

On 25/7/06, frank theriault, discombobulated, unleashed:

I say: someone ~should~ post a picture of their naked wife,
 just as a
scientific experiment, to guage the reaction...

 LOL way to go frank

Does it have to be their own wife? How about we post pictures of other
people's naked wives?
