Careful; those hawks may be after your junco.

Re: PESO - peekaboo

2014-11-05 Thread Daniel J. Matyola
The municipal government contracts with a bow hunting club to thin out
the herd in the woods adjoining our home. Twice in the last four
years, a wounded buck has stumbled into our yard to die, followed a
few minutes later by the hunter tracking it The usually give us a
couple of bottles of wine in exchange for coming onto our land to
remove the buck. (Not that I want to have to remove it myself.) The
venison is processed by a local deer dresser and donated to local
food banks.

I like venison, but I prefer wine (and beef).

A doe looks out from behind a tree in Troy, Michigan this morning. K-3

The doe is wild but roams the several hundred acres of a nature center.
The deer I see there are less timid than those that show up in my yard.
Some more deer pics from this morning in the same photo.net folder.

Yes, I really like this view and composition much better!

I spent two years stationed on the USS Enterprise out of Alameda. Of
course, in those two years I onld had 53 days total in town, so not a

Hard to get something different. Also when I was on the hill, there were
more fences than normal (they fence part of the hill I suppose to keep people

eroded away. But it meant it was harder than normal to keep fence out of

Great shot.

Though after having seen a number of pictures from K20D I tend to think

No offense, no pun, just a mild irony.

Re: PESO: Peekaboo, I See You

2008-03-07 Thread Adam Maas
One of the oddities of my D300 is that I shoot much more at low ISO's
than I ever did with my older bodies. I suspect some of this has to do
with the really nifty Auto ISO on the Nikon (You set max ISO and the
minimum shutter speed you want it do maintain, set the camera to the
minimum ISO you want and let it do the thinking, works VERY well,
better than the K10D's already good Auto ISO).

I've probably taken more ISO 200 shots on the D300 than I did on my
K10D *istDS combined.

I do need to try out ISO 100 on it though.

 Great shot.

Though after having seen a number of pictures from K20D I tend to think
that ISO 100 is a thing of a past. Only older cameras and their
respective users would take a shot at such low ISO ;-).

No offense, no pun, just a mild irony.

Lovely picture and nice that you can do that.

Try taking pictures with a big camera in a MickeyD's playland.
