I thought that was a Leica.

I don't know what might have given you that impression, John. Its
full name is "The Impossible Project I-1 Analog Instant Camera". It's
made by The Impossible Project and compatible with Polaroid type 600
films made by Polaroid (now discontinued) and The Impossible Project.
Most instant film folks just refer to it as either "the I-1" or "a
Polaroid camera" since Polaroid is a generic for instant film.

I didn't see the camera in the photo, just the case, and I thought it
looked like the case for a range-finder camera.

For clarity …

case closed: https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2817/33410883064_434604b4db_o.jpg
case open: https://c1.staticflickr.com/5/4188/33868331100_4c60877c78_o.jpg

It's without a doubt one of the funkiest "never-ready" cases I've ever seen...
But it does protect the camera when I toss it into the backpack. :-)

My thoughts too. Perhaps when I lose 60 lbs or so… Right now I presume I look
like the elephant riding a tricycle at the circus… =8^O
Only good thing about that is traffic does seem to notice me, particularly when
I wear a rainbow colored tie-dye shirt! :-)
(Sorry to sear your mind's eye with that image… ah, no I'm not. ;-))

> Nice (sx-70?) shots though. Or is it faux Sx-70?

Quite real, although the camera in this case was The Impossible Project's new
I-1 … first new SX-70 film compatible instant camera in 20 years … and some
outdated Impossible Project 600 Color film. Here's the camera's web page if
you're interested.
https://us.impossible-project.com/collections/impossible-i-type/products/impossible-i1-instant-analog-camera

I used the wireless remote release (using Bluetooth via the app on my iPhone or
Apple Watch, can't remember which) to do the one of me behind the bike.

This photo was made last week with the original and unrestored 1973 Polaroid
SX-70 that my uncle bought new back when, and gave to me in 2011, on Impossible
Project SX-70 B film: https://flic.kr/p/SSbruS

It is pretty feeble. Good enough for a casual lock up in a good neighborhood as
long as the bike is in sight, like when I stop for lunch at the cafe and am
sitting outside a few feet from the bike.

I have a much heavier duty U-Lock and cable for more serious security for when
I go a bit further and need to secure it. It locks both wheels and frame. On
such occasions, I usually unlock and remove the battery too, and take the
controller/computer with me.
