The final list of themes for 2014 are now listed on the PUG submission

Brian, lots to like in the list. I like Ken's suggestions as well.

I say you go for it Brian and pick.

OK. Here we go - in no particular order and not yet set in stone. So,
feel free to criticize:

Open Gallery
Feathered Friends
Synchronicity
Transport
Still Life
Hairy
Favourites (this is Ken's Best of my best? - all time)
Cold
Decrepit
Motion
Big
Random Exhibition Title Generator

A few people liked the idea of the Random Exhibition Title Generator.
I'm not sure about it. It could be a theme that sounds good but might
result in few submissions. We shall see.

So how does the RETG theme work? You generate the theme at some later
date? Or we generate a theme and make a photo to match?

The latter.

Keep pressing the 'Curate Me' button until you find a title that works

Presumably any photo would be acceptable provided there isn't a cigar

If there was a cigar in your image, then as far as the theme is
concerned your image is close but no cigar.

Still works. :-)

PUG Themes for 2014

2013-09-17 Thread Brian Walters

G'day all

It's that time again. Bob's recent post 'Self Assignments - PUG'
jogged my memory that we need to decide on PUG themes for 2014.

Based on suggestions made in previous years plus a few I've come
across on other sites, here's a short list of possibilities. Please
feel free to suggest others:

Open Gallery (this one is a definite starter)
Best of 2013

Decrepit
Close but no cigar (photos that didn't quite make it.)

Re: PUG Themes for 2014

2013-09-17 Thread Rick Womer
Brian,

That's a good list.

I plan to save my best of 2013 for The Book, so won't send one of them in for
the PUG.  One could consider a Book Rejects theme for later in the year...

Dunno about Close but no cigar.

It will be fun to see Synchronicity return.

What do you have in mind for Random Exhibition Title Generator? We each fire it
up and shoot what it suggests?

Cheers,

Rick

I think any and all of them would be good, although Decrepit strikes a
little close to home.
