Re: Pentax Lens caps

2014-01-17 Thread John

The one I got with the 50mm was a fairly soft injection molded plastic.
Don't think I've ever even seen one of the original metal ones.

I do have several original (aka OLD) Kodak metal 35mm film cans.

I was thinking of the caps Pentax included for a while that just slip on
over the outside of the barrel, hence my original comment about finding
one of the right diameter. I got one with a SMCP-A 50mm one time.

my lenses with that setup, you can get the cap off by taking the lens

The original rubbery plastic slip-ons used with some M-series (?) or K come
along occasionally. I bought 10 or so the last time I came across some on eBay
- they slide onto a 49mm lens (or filter) nicely. Also produced in 52mm size.
Sometimes a bit of tape on the inside edge helps for a more secure fit.

Re: Pentax Lens caps

2014-01-16 Thread Stanley Halpin
I just conducted an inventory of sorts.

I currently have 5 new-old-stock 51mm push-on plastic Pentax lens caps that are
for 49mm front-diameter lenses. Part # PK29 if I can believe the label attached
by the eBay seller. One Asahi Pentax metal push-on of the same size (used,
complete with shimming tape in the inside.) If the originator of this thread
still needs such a lens cap, please contact me off-list to arrange for me to
send one or two your way.
