Re: PESO: Mendocino Homestead II
I see. I appreciate the calming effect of subdued light in many many cases. Might improve this..for many. Not likely to re-shoot it as it's a couple hundred wrinkly miles away. As I was shooting it, I was wishing the fronts of the buildings were not in shadow. I feel, however, that the contrast has its benefits as well, especially since the shadows held enough detail to satisfy me. Jack --- David Savage [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: I'm not quite good enough with Photoshop to do that. I was talking about the harshness of the light :-) If possible I'd recommend re-shooting when the light was more flattering to the scene. PESO: Mendocino Homestead
On our (wife and I) way to the coast to escape the Northern California central valley heat, I did a U-turn and a quick hand held grab of the attached. After walking a short ways, I went to f/5.6 in order to give SR a chance. As a result, I recognize that the DoF is fairly shallow. Didn't thrill me through the viewfinder, but guess it's my barn thing that kept me from deleting it. Actually, I did delete it, by accident while PS'ing. Went into recycle bin recovered and restored it. Thanks, Jack --- P. J. Looks like it has lots of potential. As is, the lighting isn't helping and the sky is a wash. It is something to revisit, if you can, and capture the great image that is lurking. -- Bruce Monday, August 27, 2007, 7:01:36 AM, you wrote: JD On our (wife and I) way to the coast to escape the Northern California JD central valley heat, I did a U-turn and a quick hand held grab of the JD attached. I might fiddle with it to see if I can't entice out some lurking potential. I've always been drawn a natural look, but may revisit the saved image.
