I can't supply any nudes but if you're willing to go with a zoom 28mm is available for the 645. With no large-aperture wide-angle for that system, the ISO must be stretched pretty far to make the dust lanes in the galaxy appear. To get the same AoV of my 24 on the K-1 you'd need 36 on the 645Z. Do remember that the ones I posted were stitched panoramas. Interesting, I tried poking around on ebay and the wide angle options seem to be 35 f3.5 or 45mm f/2.8 https://www.ebay.com/sch/3323/i.html?_fsrp=1&_nkw=pentax+645+wide+angle&_sacat=3323&_from=R40=nc=Pentax KEH doesn't really show anything else https://www.keh.com/shop/lenses/pentax-645-a--pentax-645-fa--pentax-67-.html?multi=true I'm rather surprised by this. From looking at Larrys shots, I believed the quality of the foreground would be the decisive factor for whether a result would be print worthy. It is my experience that photos of just the sky get very boring very quickly, even if it's an amazing image of the sunset, milky way etc. And as far as the night sky goes, there is nothing I can do that you can't download better versions of from the Hubble archives. I always try to put something interesting in front of a pretty sky. With that in mind, I took an extra long exposure at a lower ISO and smaller aperture to see if they could be combined effectively in post. That turned out to be more finicky than I had hoped, even with no fluttering vegetation to move between or during exposures. Or maybe I'm just too tired to be efficient now (it's 3 am). I haven't yet experimented much with lighting my subject on the ground when putting the sky in the background. Here's one I did in Rhyolite outside of Death Valley https://www.flickr.com/photos/ellarsee/11770425926/in/album-72157639425946344/ Anyway, I think the technique may have some merit for the right kind of foreground. I'd like to try it with nudes, as has been observed a nude in the foreground can improve a photo with almost any background. There are some major depth of field challenges there. But I suppose that someone with focus stacking software could do two fifteen second exposures, with the foreground subject lit with a flash and one image focused on the foreground and the other focused on the background, and let the focus stacking software sort out which frame to grab which heavenly bodies from. Sky exposed for 15 seconds at f/4.5 and ISO 12800. Foreground exposed for 8 minutes at f/8 and ISO 800. Tonal PP done in LR. Pasted the two together in photoshop. Larry - does your birding friend have a wish list for specific flora? When we were traveling in the 80's up to '92 out west I took careful notes as I was still submitting stuff to animals Animals/Earth Scenes and I have a few boxes of dups and rejects from them that have specific locations and species. They had to be razor sharp and well ID'd.. and Ive travelled somewhere in California alone in the 90's, 2002, 2005. anyway I may have something I could contribute as I'm sure you do too! ann On 2/27/2018 1:42 AM, Larry Colen wrote: I asked a friend who is excellent at ID'ing local fauna about the bird. At first I thought it was the pale prairie subspecies often referred to as a "Krider's" Red-tailed Hawk, but the extensive belly band and the tail with orange going all the way to the base (rather than with an extensive whitish wash at the base and orange only on the outer half), leaves me to think this is what is often called a pale-morph Red-tailed Hawk. Red-tails are extremely variable and can range from very pale like this one to almost entirely chocolate-brown. Fantastic photos - thanks for sharing them! Re: **JUNK** Re: GESO -- The Game.
That’s what happens when I type on my phone at 0-dark-30, Michigan and Harvard played 8 times beginning in 1891. They were 4-4. Michigan lists national championships for 1902, 03 and 04, among many others, but I think it was known as “Championship of the West” back then and didn’t include the Ivy League. By the way, Michigan considers its game against Ohio State to be “the game,” although in truth the Michigan State game is a bigger deal in much of the home state, especially since MSU has been beating up on old blue in recent years. I'm pretty sure that the name of the Camera is in a standard location, or has a standard tag, (not sure how the standard part of EXIF is implemented, and not curious enough to find out), in plain text. Thanks Igor, I appreciate the response. So I guess the next question is has anybody with a K3 or later Pentax noticed shutter information re- multiple exposure or time delay etc. in the Exif data? Kenneth Waller http://www.pentaxphotogallery.com/kennethwaller - Original Message - From: "Igor PDML-StR" <pdml...@komkon.org> Subject: Re: Question re Xfif data from K3 It's been a while since I've looked at the details of EXIF, but IRC, the information about the shutter modes is written in the "Makernote" field (if it is written). The format of that field is brand-dependent, and probably camera-dependent. What I mean by the latter, is that it probably gets changed in the more recent cameras. In some (many?) cases its format is not even published by the manufacturer, but rather reverse-engineered by software developers. CS2 is ancient (nothing wrong if it works for you), so, most likely it's just unaware of the K-3's Makernote format and cannot decipher it properly. Re: Question re Xfif data from K3
It's been a while since I've looked at the details of EXIF, but IRC, the information about the shutter modes is written in the "Makernote" field (if it is written). The format of that field is brand-dependent, and probably camera-dependent. What I mean by the latter, is that it probably gets changed in the more recent cameras. In some (many?) cases its format is not even published by the manufacturer, but rather reverse-engineered by software developers. Thanks Toralf, that suggestion makes the change almost palatable. You're right. The actual behavior is still wrong, but until the current lead on the bug fix either is fired, quits, retires or or dies, I expect that the change in reply to behavior will stay. Re: Fwd: Re: Stuck Battery In Pentax Q
The chemistry of old single-use batteries and modern rechargeable batteries is very different. You could, if you wanted to, cut an old battery in half without much happening. That's not true of something like a lithium ion cell (as can easily be seen on youtube), so those tend to be enclosed in a reasonably strong airtight and watertight casing. Old cells were not, so if the battery began to degrade you could end up with some fairly nasty chemicals forcing their way out of the battery and ending up all over the inside of whatever you were using the battery in. Re: OT: Re: PESO. Electrical activity
Depends on your use. Photobucket appears to be just a kind of one-off image hosting service. Useful as a place to stash a single image and share a link to it. Personally I have limited use for that. I prefer to be able to create galleries of related images as well as sharing links to individual images. Flickr is still good for that, though a few folks here have issues with it. Tumblr seems to be quite good as a place for both small galleries and single images. If you choose a clean profile template your Tumblr will be nice looking too. Both Flickr and Tumblr have been around for a long time and appear to have years ahead of them, unlike many of the random image hosting sites. Both are free to use too. Some folks really like 500px. I don't, but you might, so have a look. Not many realize it but Twitter allows posting images and sharing a link to it. It's not the best looking place, but it's free and works. And it renders images fast. On Sun, Dec 4, 2016 at 3:58 AM, jameswrote: > > > On 4/12/2016 11:20 AM, Bruce Walker wrote: >> >> OT: is Photobucket often this slow?
