Re: SDM snaffu

Re: SDM snaffu
Centre focus, lots of contrast so it shoudl be fine biut its not. What it feels like its doing is it will focus, then front focus then back focus then front focus then stop. I cannot shot as the focus ilight is flashing so no picture. its sporatic it will be fine for 2-3 shots then it will start. I'm going to send this back it think/ Dave On Sun, Apr 13, 2014 at 8:00 PM, Bruce Walker bruce.wal...@gmail.com wrote: Which focus point where you using, Dave? Re: SDM snaffu
If there are leaves or branches between you and the subject, the camera/lens doesn't really know what you want. If there is a breeze, and said obstacles are moving, AND you do not have spot focusing on, the camera will hunt. Choosing action mode will do the same thing. Focusing looks for movement, such as a flying bird, vs a perching one. I spot focus on the subject, moving the spot to something stable at the same distance as the subject off center of the frame. This frees up my composition wishes instead of centering the subject. Worked wonders with the hummingbirds yesterday.
