I can count (with the help of all my fingers and toes) the number of frames I've taken with my *istD since getting the K10D. The last time I took it out was to have it as back up when I shot a VIP event for work. Re: Who here is using the oldest DSLR?
I purchased an *ist D last March when the price of the body only dropped to $400 on Amazon (through Cameta). I already had a K100D, my first DSLR, purchased in September 2006. I picked the *ist D up to use as a second body and to keep at work -- I also had the idea that while I may someday replace the K100D, there might be some historical and collector satisfaction in having Pentax's first DSLR. As per John's note below, does anyone else use the FA 28/2.8 as the main lens or one used most often on the Pentax DSLRs? I often choose it for the slightly wider field of view than the 35/2 even though it's a stop slower (I have the 21/3.2 as well). I thought having the 21 and the 35 would mean that I wouldn't use the 28 as much, but I often find it's either the perfect choice (or the perfect compromise). Re: Who here is using the oldest DSLR?
28mm is a great single-lens setup for the DSLRs. Once I had the FA43 and DA21, however, I discovered I wasn't using the 28 anymore. Since I tend to sell off anything i'm not actively using, I sold it (along with my *ist DS bodies and other unused lenses). Godfrey On Dec 10, 2007, at 5:59 AM, Joe Wilensky wrote: ... I remember when I was on a Dodge television shoot in 1999, a big dollar print photographer was on hand to shoot some stills. He used a D! much like polaroids were once used. He shot the pic on the D!, then sent it to the clients for approval. After they gave it an okay, he shot it on film with his F4. That was then.
